Yesterday marked the end of The Forge’s time as Birmingham’s go-to DIY venue. Since 2012 it has hosted the majority of the shows I have attended here in Birmingham, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little sad to see it go. Without this venue I am certain I wouldn’t be the person I am today, nor would I have met so many great people. It has given this community an outlet for creativity, a place for self expression, and I think that is the most important thing The Forge had to offer. These pictures were taken yesterday (5/2/2015) featuring the local bands Group 11 and Slam Brigade, along with Georgia based Machinist. R.I.P. 2012-2015

uuuhh, just got back from a show in brum, haven't been to many gigs like that for a bit so i decided to try and make the effort, as much to try and be more social or whatever as anything. some band i don't think i'd heard of called survival got a mental reaction, times together playing meant i wasn't the oldest person in the room for once, lots of apparently now standard issue drunk polish people heckling and demanding to know who was 'famous' and i also learned some valuable information from an old mate about what happens when you can't be arsed to pay your council tax, overall i'm pretty glad i went though
also, when you type 'birmingham' into the tags thing the first thing on the drop down bit is 'birmingham six', fucking hell.

I also have Sacred Love from Baltimore at 412 41st St on 8/14 (more details TBA) and a couple of rad shows for the fall at The Forge that I will be announcing in the next few weeks.
