4-Day Birthday Weekend Recap below the cut
So I was pretty quiet the last four or so days. Thursday evening I went to a Breaking Benjamin concert in Milwaukee, WI, so Wednesday, my birthday, I worked for a few hours at the library, finished getting ready to leave, and drove to Appleton to meet up with my friend which is about two hours from home. She and her husband took my out to eat for my birthday and the next day, before getting our rental and driving to Milwaukee, we went to Barnes and Noble to make me happy. lol. We arrived in Milwaukee late, so we went to Dave & Busters for food, but didn’t have time to play any games and were actually nearly an hour late for the concert - it was just the local opening band which wasn’t bad, but not a big deal we missed some of.
The concert itself was good, but I am officially not a big fan of standing at concerts because I got easily frustrated that I couldn’t see the band members and watch their emotion. Still fantastic to see one of my favorite bands. I got really annoyed with my friend the next day though.
We went to bed super late and I am not a morning person. My friend is. So she insisted I get up by about 8am. I had a lingering headache from the morning prior and my eyes ached from being tired still. But I got Starbucks so... She really wanted cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory which opens at 11am, so we wandered around a few malls literally just killing time. At the Cheesecake Factory I was told I was not allowed to get food because we didn’t have time to do so because we had to get the rental back on time. My body doesn’t do well when I am away from home because I get out of my rhythm and eat fuckin weird and I just start feeling off. I also can’t eat a lot of sweets because they are too rich and make me gag. I like cheesecake, but when I feel off already making me eat something rich and sweet is not going to make my body happy.
So I was kinda ticked that we didn’t get an actual fuckin lunch because we had to have cheesecake... even though my friend admitted she didn’t really want cheesecake, but figured she’d be angry with herself if she didn’t get some when she had the chance. (She also wasn’t okay with taking a dairy product home and had to eat it there.)
After we dropped off the rental she apparently was done with people and didn’t express and interest in me staying longer, so I shrugged and went to Half-Priced Books to kill a bit of time before heading to Oshkosh where a very close friend of mine lives so he would be done with work. I spent my afternoon with him and one of his roommates and it was a LOVELY time. Probably the highlight of my weekend tbh.
I drove home that evening so I could see my kitty and sleep in my new bed. Saturday was a quiet putter-y, productive day and Sunday was a lazy day in my pjs and bed all day. Overall a very good 4-day birthday weekend.
