with those trailer park kisses
on them paper white thighs
skin like the driven snow
wrapped around emerald eyes
a face written in innocence
with a thirst she can't hide
oh please show me your secrets
my sweet birthday bride
crossing borders and boundaries
just to stand by her man
two manipulative gypsies
improvising a plan
though her ID don't show
it she's more woman inside
then all those I've forgotten
my sweet birthday bride
the weight that we carry
just drags everyone down
so if things get too heavy
I'm around..
to catch you when you're falling
I'll never let you down
let's give this love some volume
and never turn down
never ever turn it down..
now it's 20 years later
we're still stumbling along
built a home full of family
love creation and song
we ain't never been perfect
and that ain't no lie
but if it's worth it let's work it
and stand side by side
let's carry a plus sign
and forget to divide
you're a special addition
our love is my pride
you're especially worth it
my sweetest birthday bride
your loves worth the work babe
my sweet birthday bride.
so I’m cleaning up, going through and getting rid of a bunch of junk, and I just found this poem, in an old notebook. I wrote this during happier times, filled with hope for our future, November 2014. How eerie to find it today..
