For the past few years on my birthday, I have been riding my age in miles. This year, I decided to do it a bit differently and do double my age in miles. Tough ride, but felt great to be reminded of how good long rides feel, and how good you feel after. Props to @claytoncombe for riding and suffering with me! Birthday miles complete, officially 30 now.  Can you tell how excited I am?

A touch slower than I would have liked, but it got done. It was so cold outside that by mile 10 the water in my bottles was frozen. Not all of it luckily, but enough that I had to stop running so I could apply enough leverage to unscrew the top.

Post run recovery was half a protein bar which made me want to puke (due to exhaustion, not taste), a cup of hot cocoa with a healthy plethora of mini marshmallows, and a 6 inch egg white sub loaded with veggies.

Now to chill for a bit before the local brewery opens.
