“Midwife” means with woman. It means labor support. It means continuity of care. It means family-centered. It means normalizing birth. Recently I had a glorious birth with a patient whom I had seen week after week in the last few months of her pregnancy. I met her partner, asked about her birth preferences, and listened to her concerns. We were fortunate enough to experience her birth together, and I even helped her partner guide their baby into the world. Truly an amazing journey.
