This is soooo fwb sambucky, and obviously Bucky is actually irrevocably in love with Sam and so convinced it’s one-sided. Cue the angst and the pining and the longing and the stolen looks and the slow kisses and the intense eye contact that lasts a little too long while they’re making love, because those are the only moments Bucky feels truly, undoubtedly alive.

🌿 how does creating make you feel? I could answer how it makes me feel rn but that wouldn’t really be a representation of how I truly feel about creating. There’s just something about getting into the zone and just getting into the flow and then once you’re done something has resulted. When you’re just that focused it’s easy to forget everything except the thing you’re trying to create and sometimes we all need that. But sometimes creating can be cathartic or etc etc depending on what you’re doing
💞 what's the most important part of a story for you? the plot, the characters, the worldbuilding, the technical stuff (grammar etc), the figurative language Are we talking as a reader or a writer? But honestly thinking about this as both, to me all these factors are important, when I read and write, I try to gauge if all these things are working to service the story. If the characters are ooc or they don’t work with the plot idea, then obviously something needs to change. If any of these are off balance, things need to be reevaluated, changed, fixed or whatever. Coz I’ve read stories that might be technically correct or have the most lush prose or dynamite characters but then the other stuff (plot, worldbuilding or whatever) just totally ruined it or was off.
Clearly, if I’m reading a fic and character is ooc, that will take me out, but that’s not the most important part of a story. I gotta see the whole and how it works (yet again maybe that’s the choral person in me 😂 what’s the most important thing in a song? You can’t have a song without it’s rhythm and beats, the tempo, the melodies and harmonies, the silence inbetween the notes. And this doesn’t include adding instruments or vocals!) and if it’s kinda funky/off/it just… *shrug*
star trek aos for the reverse unpopular opinion thing?
it's a fantastic modernisation of star trek and a great introduction for my generation to the world of star trek, because action movies of that style are in vogue compared to older trek series.
pushing jim kirk's character into the mold of a masculine action movie lead and watching him try to work his way out of it like an escapologist is also, in my opinion, a brilliant piece of character work, deliberate or no (based on the deleted scenes, it's deliberate).
zachary quinto as spock is just. completely and utterly incredible like if nothing else i'm glad we got that absolutely fantastic piece of casting. everyone is actually very well cast tbf.

be together aka my first sambucky fic. I just feel much more comfortable with the characters and as a writer now and I know like if I did rewrite it, I could make it much better, and way more painful. Still, I’m very happy and proud of it, glad I actually took the very scary step of writing for a new fandom.

The thing about falling was, it was impossible to forget.
You could never forget the drop, the way your heart moved in your chest, as if trying to reach out and hold onto something, to break the fall; the way it jumped and skipped and stopped and raced. You could never forget the roaring wind, the sound of your shout echoing and fading. You could never forget the crash, softened by white snow that grew crimson around you.
Bucky fell once, and it was burned into his memory like a lightning scar on skin, permanent and tender to the touch.
This is my latest and least kudos’d fic. I’ve been told it’s like poetry and that made me so happy.

also the movie where he has a pup is called synchronic and i believe it’s on netflix if you want to try to get screens, but the whole movie is very dark lighting wise so would be hard to use those without editing

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
well, basically everything about sam and bucky, individually and as a pair.
like, most people view sam as this levelheaded guy who always has the answer and always has everything under control, and at the same time they see him as a second best choice to steve and bucky, he’s always weaker and who they have to settle with, AND also he’s the emotional punching bag to every white character around him
as for bucky, he’s rarely viewed as a whole person. he’s a shell of himself, someone who’s always broken and weak and needs to be babied and treated delicately, and it takes away so much of buckys growth and maturity and agency
also there seems to be a belief that sam and bucky aren’t equals. more often than not one of them is reduced beyond reason to lift the other up, and it’s so common.
they’re both such amazing characters with so much potential, and to see them reduced to this is sad. they deserve so much better
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
answered here but i obviously have more. love triangles. can’t stand them and just can’t understand why they’re so popular and what’s so special about them. also what’s even the point if the story doesn’t end with all three of them together

the bit in and you touch me (and i’m like) where bucky runs his hand down one of sam’s scars even though he’s not looking at it!!! bc he has sam memorized!!! i adore it so much <3
ahhhh thank you!! <333 i enjoyed writing this fic sm, the intimacy and the love and them being open and honest with each other and obviously bucky having sam memorised, it was really fun to explore. i can’t wait to add more to the physical intimacy series lol

Fourth of July came and went with a loud celebration and louder fireworks that lit the night sky like a burning sun. Sam stayed and smiled and talked, until the bright colors burned out and the night was foggy and ashy, the air smelling charred. It always left his ears ringing, his skin crawling like he’s back at the desert, where there was always something burning.
It was the middle of the night when he made it back home, only slightly tipsy, so he couldn’t blame being intoxicated for the way he opened his mouth and called for Bucky, who always stayed behind when fireworks were involved.
