I came out to my parents this week and both of them were super calm and sort of unaffected. My mom said “it doesn’t matter” how I identify and to do what makes me happy, that’s the most important thing. My dad told me that he might have been naive but he “still thinks I’m going to meet a nice guy” (lmao not the point dad) he knows how much I’ve been struggling to find a solid boyfriend but I wanted to tell them that I’m open to dating men AND women...not just men. I know it’s probably really hard for him to grasp what I’m saying because I’ve been IDing as hetero for my entire life, but yet, here I am.
If my kids ever come out I’m literally throwing them a party and will wear a gay pride cape 🏳️🌈
