Located in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, El Pont del Bisbe (Bishop's Bridge), was constructed to coincide with the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition.
The architect of the bridge, Joan Rubió I Bellveras, suggested that all non-Gothic buildings in the neighborhood surrounding Barcelona Cathedral should be demolished and replaced by new Gothic-style buildings. Unsurprisingly, Bellver’s proposal was not carried out, but this fanciful bridge suggests his vision.
