Bishops House, Sheffield I had to call into Sheffield today to pick up my race number for the Sheffield Half Marathon tomorrow. I’ve never been to Meersbrook Park before, so I thought I’d use the time to visit, as the park has one of Sheffield’s oldest timber framed buildings, Bishops House (dating back to the 1500s). Bishop's Place, Spitalfields
Thanks, Sue, for contributing this photo of the roof garden at Bishop's Place, Spitalfields. In the background is the spire of Nicholas Hawksmoor's Christ Church, Spitlafields. The photo reminds us that much of London cannot be seen from the street and is a private world. Some sites, such as this one, can be viewed by the public on special days, such as Open House London weekend.
