In other news.
Did 85.7 km today. The weather office got it exactly right. Overcast, then drizzle, then overcast then partly sunny once everyone was home. There was a fondo today in Langley. I stopped considering it once I realized how early I would have to get up to get there by start time, and then you have the parking issue. James went. Also while doodling around UBC wondering how wet we were going to get I noticed the black skies out east in Langley's direction. Yet another good reason to skip it. I have my share of wet riding. My winter bike needs new rear wheel bearings which are on the way. I cant ride with that grinding noise, and it does slow you down. Aint riding it until I get those replaced. So the drizzle was not bad. Arms got wet, legs got wet, but the feet dint. Amazing what not wet feet mean. I find that a little wet on the road is good. The tires get quiet and thing kinda hook up. Lot of wet sucks. Went out to Iona. Patrick went down the highway to Miller road I cut back to go the back way and had to double back as they ripped up the road under the bridge. Once on Ferguson I was behind Alan and Patrick. I was doing about 30 into the wind and passed them both then after the horse farm Alan passed me. So I jumped on his wheel. With him in front he slowed down a bit. He was all over the road, did he want me to go in front? Hell no I did the first half he can pull me the second half. I just stayed behind and rested. He was erratic. I sprinted past him at the lot. Got over 45. Patrick left ahead of us to return in the tailwind. I did the bit from the windy corner to the horse farm at 35 ish then made Alan pass me so he did the second half. It is more efficient to swap every 10 or 15 seconds, but I find that difficult with him. We caught Patrick just at the light before the overpass. He must have been hauling. Decent ride in not great weather. Next week I need a long one. Will see how it feels as to by myself on Saturday or with the group on Sunday. Also should mention when are we going to see you again Lisa and Dianne?
