Infinity Train has dared, has executed, and has done fucking DID the highest standard of animation entertainment.
Like, we’ve had shows that deal with heavy issues, but Infinity Train has made the impact monumental. Book 3 dealt with themes of the consequences of the characters actions, and more importantly what the refusal to learn from them entails, and it hit because personal growth on the train isn't a guarantee of happiness - it’s how you SURVIVE. Grace changed for the better and her first act of true kindness was rewarded, in which her life was saved and she was allowed to go on and one day get off the train. But she also lost everyone she loved, and she was left to face that future alone with only the Apex kids. Simon sank so deep so fast, and was able to outdo Ameila in the span of what, a day? He was a tragedy of a human being, unable to comprehend moving on from his trauma and pain, and made that the burden of everyone round him. He rejected all the train’s chances, and in the end had no one to blame but himself for his fate.
Each new season just leaves me wanting MORE. This show has yet to exhaust the infinate (haha) potential, and if it managed to get away with all THAT in this book, imagine what they can do for 5 more.
