ok but what is ‘tumblr feminism’???
Any sort of feminism that is self-entitled or self-righteous, that is hypocritical, that promotes hatred and violence toward men, that believes women’s sjis outweigh the importance of theirs (I’m not saying that we don’t have problems, but rather they have a whole lot as well and neither party should be trying to prove that they have “bigger” or “more important issues”), and that is overly sensitive about issues that should not be a problem in the first place. And feminists who automatically assume someone’s stupid, ignorant or that doesn’t know what they’re talking about when they oppose their opinion. Those who cannot accept more than one point of view.
Obviously this isn’t the case in all examples, but I’ve noticed that it’s very prominent on tumblr, especially if you go through the #feminism tag. More often than not, any feminism related post will fall into one of the categories listed above, which is the kind that promotes an even bigger barrier between the two sexes. Also people tend to blindly follow no matter how outrageous it can get because it’s supposedly the right thing to do. I believe in and support equality, which simply isn’t the case that occurs with many feminists on this site.
But then again, the mras on tumblr are often very spiteful and ignorant as well. My annoyance for gender related social justice issues goes both ways, but it appears to be solely the MRA’s who are criminalized when it’s both parties at fault and they both need to stop tearing each other down.
