note: as I’m writing the AU, it’s not turning up as angsty as I had originally planned and I think it has to do with the fact that I decided to keep them together instead of splitting them up for more drama and I like it more this way so yay~ also, I know it seems as if there’s still a lot to happen but with the way I’m planning the updates we should be looking at maybe five or six more parts until the end? we’ll see about that... OH, and I decided the name of the next AU teehee~

Taehyung’s laughter dies down the moment he exits the elevator with Yoongi and sees Jungkook sitting next to their apartment door, school uniform undone, hair a mess and clear signs that he had been crying in his eyes.
“Kook?” Yoongi looks up from his phone when Taehyung says that and frowns, just as worried as his boyfriend about their best friend being there looking like this.
Jungkook gets up, puts his backpack on again and rubs at his eyes, taking a deep breath to calm himself down even though the crying had stopped a good half-hour before they arrived.
“What happened?” Taehyung asks while Yoongi hurries to open the door and lead them inside.
Jungkook doesn’t answer. Instead, he focuses on taking his shoes off and leaving his stuff next to them before sitting on the couch, where Taehyung is already waiting for him.
“Mom kicked me out.” He says it at once, voice low and staring at his hands on his lap, still not quite believing something like this was happening to him.
“What?” Taehyung sounds like he doesn’t believe it either and Yoongi remains silent.
“Your mom showed her the articles… about Jimin-hyung and all this mess.” Jungkook swallows, shaking his head as he wills the tears not to start falling again. “They know who I am now so my name was probably in it, too.”
“Shit, Kook…” Yoongi sits on Jungkook’s other side and places a comforting hand on the back of his neck while Taehyung processes the younger’s words. “You know you can stay with us, right?”
“Y-yeah, I… I know.” Jungkook nods, then sighs. “Jimin-hyung will probably tell me to stay with him, though.”
“Don’t you want that?” Yoongi asks, thinking of ways he could help him deal with whatever he’s feeling. He risks a glance at Taehyung and he’s already looking back at him, looking hurt and scared for their friend.
“I don’t know.” Jungkook answers honestly. “I love being with him, and waking up next to him and getting ready for school in the morning while he makes breakfast but…” He stops, frowns as he bites his bottom lip. “I don’t want it to be something he does out of obligation because I don’t have a place to live anymore.”
“I doubt he would do that.” Taehyung speaks for the first time, voice heavy with everything he’s feeling. Jungkook has always been like a brother to him and to see him having to go through this and make important decisions that he’s not ready for breaks his heart. “You should talk to him.”
“Yeah, I didn’t want to say anything but I thought you would have gone to him instead of come here…”
“I wanted to.” Jungkook swallows, hand running through his hair from probably the hundredth time that day, a reflex of his state of mind. “But I didn’t know if…” He takes a deep breath, clearly trying not to break into tears. “He already has way too much going on, he doesn’t need another problem.”
“I don’t think he would ever consider you a problem, Kook…” Yoongi offers, and deep down Jungkook knows it’s true but his insecurities speak louder.
“I’m gonna call him to come see you, okay?” Taehyung says, already reaching for his phone in his pocket but Jungkook panics and grabs his hand, eyes widening and tears finally breaking free.
“No, no, hyung, please.”
“Hey, hey, it’s okay.” Taehyung sits back down and holds Jungkook’s face in between his hands, recognizing the look in his eyes. “You don’t have to go with him, it’s fine. I just think he needs to know what happened and you can go through this together. Why are you so scared?”
Jungkook pulls away from him, shaky hands coming up to wipe at his eyes before he hides his face in them. He answers, but it’s in the form of an unintelligible mutter and the other two share a confused look.
“Kook?” Yoongi tries, carefully prying his hands away so they can hear him properly. “What did you say?”
“I-I just… I don’t want him to think that I’m- that I’m trying to get his m-money or something.” He answers in between hiccups, and it hurts his hyungs having to listen to him saying that.
“Oh, baby…” Taehyung sighs and pulls him into a hug, eyes meeting Yoongi’s again and it’s clear that they’re both unprepared for this. “Jimin-hyung knows you, he knows you would never do anything like this. Look at me.” He asks and Jungkook complies. “Do you trust me?” The younger frowns, then nods. “Let me call him, then. You can talk and we’ll have dinner, and everything will be fine, you’ll see.”
When Jimin arrives, Jungkook is much calmer. He’s taken a shower and changed into one of Taehyung’s oversized sweaters and is sitting in front of the television, not really paying attention to it.
“Hey.” Jimin is careful when he sits next to Jungkook, noticing the way he’s curled up on himself and having heard a quick summary of what happened from Taehyung at the door.
“Hyung, hi…” Jungkook whispers, eyes wide and unsure.
“Do you want to tell me what happened?” He moves closer as Jungkook sits up. “Tae only said I had to come fast.”
“Um, I…” Jungkook scratches his head and looks away, not sure of how to say it. “Mom found out… About us.” He starts. “She kicked me out.”
“Fuck, baby, I’m so sorry.” Jimin pulls him closer and kisses the top of his head, feeling the younger sigh against his chest. “You didn’t deserve that…” He shakes his head and hesitates for only a second before speaking again. “Are you moving in with me now?”
Jungkook tenses up in his arms. “A-are you sure, hyung?”
“If I’m sure?” He questions, pushing Jungkook away so he can look him in the eyes. “If I want my wonderful boyfriend to come live with me? The boy I would give the entire universe to if I could? Are you really asking me that?”
Jungkook smiles, a light blush painting his cheeks and wraps his arms around Jimin, burying his face in the crook of his neck and leaving a soft kiss there.
“I got really scared you wouldn’t want me…” He confesses.
“Why would I not want you?” Jimin puts some distance between them again just so he can search inside his jacket pocket. “In fact, here… As proof of how much I want you.” He says, pulling out Jungkook’s ring that he had gotten from Sungwoon that morning. “I got your ring back, just like I promised I would.”
Jungkook forgets about everything else the moment Jimin is putting the ring on his finger again. His life is a mess, but right now he can only focus on how happy he is that the ring is with him again. He doesn’t know why, but getting it back somehow makes him believe they can truly go through everything as long as they are together.
“Thank you, hyung.” He lets out an overwhelmed laugh as he looks at their matching rings finally together again and tears well up in his eyes.
“I told you I’m ready to do anything for you.” Jimin says, pleased to see his boyfriend smiling like this even with everything going on around them.
Jungkook gets serious suddenly. “It’s my turn, now.”
“What do you mean?” Jimin frowns, taken aback by the change in his expression.

Jungkook is sure he already chewed half of his bottom lip off but he still can’t stop pulling it in between his teeth as they wait for Jimin to say something.
He had talked to Eunwoo in school earlier that day and asked if he wanted to go over to the apartment to talk to Jimin about what he had told him already. He wasn’t sure if the younger boy would accept it so it surprised him to see how on board with the idea he was.
Jimin had answered Jungkook’s texts in confusion and frowned when he arrived at their place with Eunwoo in tow, someone he had never even heard his boyfriend mentioning but that suddenly was introduced to him as someone he needed to meet.
Now, the three of them are sitting at the dinner table but with no food in front of them, as Eunwoo retells the story Jungkook had already heard but now with more detail. Jimin is still a bit lost on what exactly is going on but he keeps an unreadable expression of his face while the boy talks.
When he finishes, Jimin stays silent. Jungkook starts to think this was a bad idea but he can’t think of anything to say to get his boyfriend to talk, which only makes the atmosphere even more tense.
“I’m here because I want to help.” Eunwoo breaks the silence. “I’ve always known what he did to me wasn’t right but no one would believe me if I talked, especially since he’s famous and all that…” He sighs. “Jungkook-hyung asked if I wanted to tell you and I immediately agreed because I just want him to pay for what he’s done to the both of us.”
Jungkook can see the wheels turning inside Jimin’s head and he knows he’s still processing the entire thing and thinking about how exactly that gives them advantage against Kwangmin from now on.
“You’re really brave for doing this.” Jimin finally speaks. He takes a deep breath and runs his fingers through his hair. “And I appreciate that you’re here and trying to help.” He pauses; Jungkook doesn’t know if he likes where this is going. “But there’s a lot at stake for you here.”
“I don’t care about being exposed if that’s what you’re talking about. My parents know what happened and they want justice for me, too, but we could never afford a good lawyer that cared about me. I want to do this, hyun-“ He catches himself and stops talking, cheeks turning red. “Sorry.”
Jimin smiles. “You can call me hyung, Eunwoo.” He sighs and picks up his phone, unlocking it as he thinks some more. “Okay.” Eunwoo smiles bright enough to light up the entire room and Jungkook can’t help but to do it, too, finally seeing some hope for them in this mess. “But you know it’s not going to be easy, right?” He asks, already on the phone with Sungwoon.
“Yes, hyung, but I don’t care.” He shakes his head, smile still in place. “I’ll do anything to give him what he deserves.”
Later, when Sungwoon has taken Eunwoo home and Jimin and Jungkook are alone, Jimin cards his fingers through Jungkook’s hair as they cuddle on the couch.
“You keep on saving me, you know…” He mutters, half-hoping Jungkook is dozing off and won’t pay attention to him.
But Jungkook sits up, clearly having heard what he said, and looks at Jimin right in the eyes. His eyes travel all over Jimin’s face, absorbing every little detail, before he smiles.
“Then I guess we were made for each other, hyung.” He pecks Jimin on the lips. “Because you keep saving me, too.”

note: when I talked about this AU before, right after I wrapped up Dopamine, I told you I would probably write a lot more for this than I did for the others and I even got a few asks (that I really appreciated) telling me that it was okay and to write as much as I wanted. So there you go, here it is, I wrote quite a lot so I’m sorry if you don’t like it.

Jungkook wipes his sweaty hands on his jeans for probably the hundredth time since they left. Taehyung is sitting next to him in the cab and he can feel the waves of nerves coming from the younger.
“Hey, it’ll be fine.” He says, trying to comfort him. Jungkook doesn’t answer but tries to smile, even though he’s sure it looks more like a grimace. “It’s not as scary as you think it is, just relax.”
“I don’t even know what I’m feeling, I mean... I know you wouldn’t take me where I wouldn’t have fun since you know me so well.” He sighs and resists the urge of running his fingers through his carefully styled hair. “I guess I’m mostly scared that mom will find out.”
“She won’t, okay? We’ll have fun tonight and you don’t have to worry about that, I promise. And if she does, whenever that happens, me and Yoongi will be here to support you, Kook.”
Jungkook smiles and nods, gaze going out the window when they turn a corner and he starts seeing more people dressed like them. It’s clear they’re getting closer to the club but now when his heartbeat picks up, it’s because of anticipation.
The crowd is starting to gather in front of the club but they manage to get in easily because of their VIP passes. Jungkook follows Taehyung closely and tries not to look too out of place when they enter the building. He knows he fails because he can feel his eyes growing twice their size at what he finds inside. The entire place screams luxury in a way he has never seen: chandeliers, paintings and velvet sofas are only part of the decorations that fills the enormous first floor. Jungkook’s sure he looks like a kid trying to take it all in.
The club is beautiful and not at all what he expected, and Jungkook starts to feel more at ease when they settle down at a table and order drinks. Despite having just turned legal, Jungkook has had his share of alcohol before - with a friend like Taehyung, it would be impossible not to - and he knows how much he can take; they start with a round of shots just to warm up and it’s amazing how Jungkook can already feel himself getting into the club atmosphere.
It doesn’t take long before Taehyung is pulling him to the dance floor - Yoongi stays behind, claiming he’s not drunk enough to embarrass himself yet - and Jungkook takes his hand more than willingly, happy to be able to dance in a place he won’t be judged. For what’s probably the first time in his life, Jungkook feels safe. It doesn’t matter that it’s inside a club, with sweaty people all around him and an american song he barely knows the lyrics to playing, he feels comforted and in his element. He closes his eyes for a moment and he can feel the adrenaline pumping in his veins, it’s like he’s only experiencing true happiness now and it’s exhilarating.
Jungkook doesn’t know how many songs he’s danced to and how many people he’s done it with when he needs a break. Taehyung is already back at the table with Yoongi and they’re laughing over something only they can understand.
“Oh look if it isn’t the life of the party!” Taehyung says, probably a bit too loud, when Jungkook joins them. “Having fun, baby?”
“So much, hyung!” He smiles and tries to hold back his energetic self but fails. “I didn’t think it would be like this.” Jungkook says and takes the beer Yoongi offers him.
Taehyung pulls him into a side hug, then, and Jungkook laughs. “I told you, didn’t I?” He lets go and sits back down, smiling when he spots something behind him. “Oh, and... I don’t want to alarm you but there’s a guy that’s been staring at you for a while now...” Taehyung says against his glass and pulls roughly on Jungkook’s arm when the younger starts to turn around. “Don’t look.”
“He’s probably wondering if I’m old enough to be here.” Jungkook mumbles as he lifts his bottle to his lips but stops halfway; the fear and insecurity from before are returning. “Shit, what if he’s the owner?”
“I know the owner and that’s not him.” Taehyung downs his drink in one go and clears his throat at the warmth. “I’m just telling you so you can decide what you want to do with this information.”
“Basically Tae is asking if you want us to leave you alone so he can come talk to you or if you want us to stick around.” Yoongi intervenes when he sees the look of confusion on Jungkook’s face. Said confusion turns into understanding and then shock when he processes his words and the other two smile; Jungkook is always a thousand times cuter when he’s tipsy.
“N-no, I...” He ignores Taehyung and looks behind him anyway. His eyes meet sharp ones and the strangers smirks at him before focusing on the dance floor again.
“Listen, you don’t have to do anything, just let him buy you a drink. He’s wearing a Rolex, I’m sure he can afford to.” Taehyung says, and his speech is just starting to get slurred.
“I can see you’re having fun with us but I can also see you’re dying to do more.” Yoongi adds because Taehyung’s way is never really the most comfortable one for someone like Jungkook. “You’ve been living in a cage for too long, Kook-ah, you deserve to go out and explore.” He sighs, a gay club is definitely not the place for this type of conversation. “We won’t be far and you can always call us back if you want to.”
Jungkook pouts as he thinks about it but makes up his mind when he sees Taehyung starting to get restless from staying at the table too long.
“Okay.” He says and the two don’t even bother to hide their surprise from him. “Yes, I’m sure.” Jungkook adds before one of them can even ask and Taehyung claps his hands excitedly.
“They grow up so fast!” He exclaims and kisses him on the cheek, pulling Yoongi away and leaving him alone before he can change his mind.
He notices a lot more around him now that he’s alone and that man Taehyung pointed out was definitely not the only one shooting glances his way.
Jungkook jumps when there’s a hand on his shoulder, and turns around to find the man that was staring at him from the bar; he was indeed wearing a Rolex, Taehyung really had an eye for those things.
“Need some company?” He asks and nods at the empty table, fingers expertly holding a glass of whiskey.
“Um... sure.”
“Nice of your friends to leave you alone so I could come closer. Are they always this thoughtful?” The question comes with a smirk that Jungkook can’t tell if it’s mocking or something else.
“They probably just wanted to go make out somewhere without having to worry about me.” Jungkook shrugs and drinks from his bottle again, realizing he had already finished it; the man signals for the bartender to bring him another one.
The man hums and stays quiet for a moment; Jungkook wants to speak but he has no idea where to start.
“I’m Jimin, by the way. Kinda creepy to approach you like this and not tell you my name, right?” He smiles and Jungkook can feel his cheeks heating up.
“Jungkook.” He limits himself to say and thanks the heavens that he now has a full bottle to occupy his mouth with.
“First time?” Jimin asks and takes another sip from his drink, not shifting his gaze away from Jungkook.
The younger grimaces. “That obvious?”
Jimin only smiles as he twirls the brown liquid inside his glass and thinks about what he’s going to say next.
“You’re blending in well, it’s just... your eyes give you away.” He settles on saying and wants to coo at how cute Jungkook looks with confusion written all over his face. “They’re wide and curious and... innocent.” There’s a change in the way Jimin speaks that last word that sends shivers down Jungkook’s spine.
“Oh, I... I guess it’s because I am.” Jungkook focuses on the beer in his hands only to take his eyes away from the man in front of him. If he was sober he would never be telling him any of this but as it is, he just can’t help it. “Curious a-and.. and innocent.”
Jimin leans in over the table and smirks again, and this time Jungkook can recognize the malice behind it. “Tell me then, Jungkookie... what are you curious about?”
“Is that a real Rolex?” He blurts out and Jimin laughs, clearly not expecting that for an answer. Jungkook can feel his cheeks burning up when he realizes what he just asked and he’s thankful it’s dark enough in the club that no one will notice.
“It is, yes.” Jimin still humors him and Jungkook wants to bury himself right there. “I also have a very real Harley-Davidson waiting for me outside... and other expensive watches back home if you’re so interested in that type of thing.”
Jungkook has no idea how Jimin can still turn his mess of an answer into a flirty remark so easily but he does it anyway. He’s taken aback by the implications of his words and it’s a while before his brain can fully comprehend what he’s being asked.
And when he’s done thinking about it, Jungkook decides to really throw all caution out the window when he says, “Okay. But only because I want to see the watches.” He looks down at his hands when he says it, still embarrassed despite the alcohol making him a bit more forward.
“Of course, honey.” The pet name escapes Jimin’s lips so seamlessly that, combined with the smile he’s wearing, it almost causes Jungkook’s brain to short-circuit. And then he thinks of something.
“Wait.” He mumbles, holding onto Jimin’s jacket sleeve as they get up to leave. “Weren’t you drinking? You shouldn’t drive, then...”
“I’m not drunk, Jungkookie, don’t worry about it.” Jimin assures him as he pushes him gently to the exit.
It’s weird, Jungkook concludes, going home with a stranger from a club for the first time. He idly wonders how Taehyung felt the first time he did it - probably not as awkward as him, that’s for sure. Jimin’s hand finds its way on to his lower back and Jungkook focuses on it as they get out of the now crowded club and into the cold street.
Jimin guides him not too far and Jungkook knows how reckless he’s being, can hear the sober and logical part of his brain yelling at him to stop but he doesn’t listen.
“Um, I’ve never rode a motorcycle.” He breaks the silence when Jimin offers him a helmet.
“Oh?” Jimin says, that damn loopsided grin still in place. “Why do I get the feeling you’re going to have a lot of firsts with me, Jungkook-ah?” The younger freezes, then, and Jimin recognizes the impact of his words. “You know you don’t have to come with me if you don’t want to, right? I’m not trying to force you into anything.”
“I know.” Jungkook nods and takes a deep breath. “I’ve never been this reckless, that’s all. Guess I’m just scared of getting in trouble.” He mutters as he plays with the helmet in his hands.
“I’ll make it worth it.” Jimin assures, voice just a bit on the softer side. “And if I’m going too fast, you can just tell me and I’ll stop.”
“Does that include the motorcycle?” Jungkook asks, eyeing the vehicle carefully. Jimin giggles.
“Maybe... sometimes faster is better.”
There’s a certain freedom about riding a motorcycle in the middle of the night holding tightly on to a handsome stranger. Jungkook had never felt it before and he doesn’t know if he’ll ever feel it again but it’s definitely making him feel alive. Jimin drives expertly through the empty streets, going just fast enough that Jungkook can feel the wind pulling at his clothes; he wishes he could feel it on his hair and face but he knows he can’t take the helmet off.
They arrive at Jimin’s apartment a while later - a penthouse right in the middle of Seoul - and only then it starts to really dawn on him what he’s just done. He pats at his jacket pocket and his phone is still there; he knows he can call Taehyung or Yoongi if he has to, he just doesn’t feel that need yet.
“I didn’t ask you at the club, but how old are you?” Jimin asks when they’re in the elevator.
“I, um... it was my 18th birthday yesterday.” He answers shyly.
He can see Jimin do a double take and there are his cheeks heating up again. They’re both silent as Jimin digests the information and Jungkook starts beating himself up for it.
“Sorry, it’s just...” Jimin starts but a surprised laugh interrupts him. “I didn’t think you’d be this young. I’m 24 and I kind of feel old now.”
“You don’t look 24.” Jungkook says, yet again without thinking and Jimin smiles.
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
Jungkook has to hold his jaw in place so it doesn’t fall to the floor when they walk inside the apartment. He doesn’t know Jimin’s personality but he’s sure the entire place screams his name; not to mention how beautiful it looks, just like him.
Jimin makes a half-joking comment about his watches and Jungkook covers his face in embarrassment, asking him to please forget that he ever said that and Jimin can’t help but laugh. They go sit on the couch on the balcony after that, closer than necessary but not close enough for Jungkook’s teenager brain.
He had been too worried about his actions to notice but now that things are calmer he can truly appreciate Jimin’s beauty. Jungkook never thought about his ideal type or anything like the magazines say, but right now if he had to, he would say Jimin is it. There’s something about him that Jungkook can’t pinpoint yet that just turns him into walking art in the younger’s eyes.
“You’re staring...” Jimin whispers after a beat and Jungkook catches himself.
“You’re really beautiful.” Jungkook answers in the same tone and he didn’t even notice Jimin moving closer.
“Thank you, Jungkookie.” He smiles. “Have you ever kissed anyone?” Jimin asks, eyes obviously lingering on Jungkook’s lips.
“Uh, yeah, but...” Jungkook stops talking when Jimin leans in just close enough that he can’t look at him without getting cross-eyed. “I-I didn’t like it...”
Jimin hums and when he speaks again, he’s moved in even more so their lips brush slightly. “Why’s that?”
Jungkook tries to swallow down his nerves but he knows they’re showing in the way his breathing is picking up. “It was too fast...” He mutters then loses his train of thought when Jimin pecks the corner of his mouth softly. “H-he didn’t- he didn’t let me keep up.” When Jimin tangles his fingers in his hair and pulls just slightly, Jungkook realizes his ragged breaths are coming out because of more than just nerves. “It was n-nothing like this.”
“I take it this is good, then?” Jimin asks and, God, Jungkook could drown in the way his voice sounds; he nods and the older smiles. “Well, Jungkookie, the buildup is just as important as the kiss itself.”
With that, Jimin finally closes the gap between them. Jungkook hears himself whine but decides he’s going to ignore his embarrassment and let go of himself for once; he’s already here and he’s enjoying it, so why not?
It’s chaste for a moment, a close-mouthed kiss just to get the younger used to the feeling, and he’s thankful that this is the way things are going. That way, when he feels Jimin’s grip on his hair tightening so that he can position his head at a better angle and the tip of his tongue against his bottom lip, he doesn’t freak out. Instead, he opens his mouth and lets Jimin explore it, doing his best to mimic his actions and reciprocate it; he seems to be on the right track if the way Jimin pulls at his hair even harder is anything to go by.
He gets confident, too, and the hand that was previously on his lap goes to hold on to Jimin’s waist, torn between just resting there and bringing him closer; Jimin seems to be in the same dilemma because Jungkook can tell he’s holding himself back.
He pulls away when his head starts to get too light and he sits there, panting, as Jimin leaves him with one final peck and giggles.
“You alright?”
“Holy shit.” Jungkook answers, quite eloquently he must say, as he tries to wrap his mind around what just happened.
“Was this better than your first kiss?” Jimin asks, acting coy.
“Infinitely better.” He says, still in a daze, and before his brain to mouth filter can start working again he mutters, “Can we do that again?”
Jimin laughs and Jungkook can feel his cheeks heating up so he looks down to hide them. Not even a second passes and he feels fingers under his chin lifting his face up and there Jimin is kissing him again as if he’s trying to steal all of his oxygen for himself.
They’re both more sure of it this time and it’s even more enjoyable than the first one; they’re starting to get more comfortable and Jungkook can feel his worries slipping away and giving place only to the feeling of Jimin’s lips on his. When Jimin bites him, Jungkook whimpers and fists his hand on his shirt, to which Jimin answers by promptly climbing on his lap.
Jungkook freezes for a split moment when he feels the weight on top of him but Jimin’s warmth and hands and mouth help ease his mind and he squeezes Jimin’s thighs in response. The older gasps against his mouth and Jungkook loves to know that he’s the one that caused that reaction.
It’s a mess of feelings and hormones inside Jungkook’s head but somehow he couldn’t be enjoying it more. He was never one to be interested in other people and he never really cared about relationships of even just sex as much as the other guys from school - he can definitely understand it now, with Jimin feeling so wonderful on top of him and kissing him breathless like this.
When Jimin sneaks his hand inside his shirt and drags his blunt nails down his abs, though, Jungkook jolts and pushes him away. Jimin stops and gets off him immediately, the worried look on his face contrasting hilariously with his messy hair and swollen lips.
“Sorry. Sorry, I...” He shakes his head and swallows. “I got carried away.” Jungkook is still dizzy from the kissing but he can appreciate how careful Jimin is being with him. On the other hand, a different part of him feels bad.
“No, I’m sorry...” He sighs and Jimin frowns. “I’m probably not at all what you were looking for tonight.”
“You weren’t what I wanted.” Jimin says as he settles down next to him on the couch again. Jungkook misses his warmth already. “But I think you’re just what I need.”
On the weekend of his 18th birthday, Jungkook is dragged across the city by his best friends, away from the suburbs and into a more glamorous reality. There, he meets Jimin, a mysterious stranger that will show him everything his sheltered life kept him from seeing. (12/?)

Jimin smiles when he sees Jungkook’s shoes by the door as he takes his own off. It’s been a while since they’ve spent some proper time together and, even though it’s late, he’s still hoping he can make up for it now.
He stops as he’s entering his bedroom and just stands there for a moment watching Jungkook sleep, curled up on the huge bed wearing only a sweatshirt and boxers – and Jimin knows he was waiting for him, simply because he hates sleeping without pants on, and that puts another smile on his face.
Jimin approaches the bed carefully, slowly putting his weight on it and kneeling next to Jungkook before he starts softly running his fingers through his hair, making the boy frown in his sleep and whine when Jimin keeps going. He moves in, then, to place light kisses on Jungkook’s exposed neck, hands finding purchase on the soft skin of his waist, causing the younger’s eyes to finally flutter open.
“Hyung…” He whines and Jimin smiles.
“Hey, baby, I’m home.” He keeps his voice low and doesn’t stop with the kisses. “Sorry it took so long.”
“T-that’s okay.” Jungkook stutters as Jimin bites him, his grip tightening just slightly to bring him closer.
“Do you want to go back to sleep?” Jimin asks when Jungkook’s eyes fall closed again, though he knows it’s not because he’s sleepy.
“No.” Jungkook whispers, lifting his hips to grind back against him. “Was waiting for you.”
“Yeah?” Jimin asks against his boyfriend’s skin. “Did you have something in mind?”
“Want to feel you close, hyung.” Jungkook whimpers, hand going up to tangle his fingers in Jimin’s hair as they move, still fully clothed but already worked up just by touching each other. “Inside me.”
Jimin groans just by thinking about fucking Jungkook right now, still warm and soft from sleep, and moves his hands down to give his ass a firm squeeze before he turns him around and straddles him.
If there is one thing Jimin loves, that thing is kissing Jungkook. His lips are always so pliant against his, ready to do whatever it takes to please without having to worry about getting anything back because he knows Jimin will give it to him. He loves the little sounds Jungkook makes as they kiss, his needy whimpers falling from his mouth so beautifully as Jimin sucks on his tongue or bites his bottom lip.
Jimin’s hands roam all over Jungkook’s body, lifting his sweatshirt until he manages to get it out of the way, pausing for a moment to get his own dress shirt off and to admire his boyfriend’s half-naked body, his skin glistening under the bedroom lights and showing the still fading bruises there.
“You’re fucking gorgeous.” Jimin says against Jungkook’s mouth and the younger doesn’t answer, only kisses him fervently once more. He does it all the time, compliments Jungkook whenever he has the chance because he knows his boyfriend doesn’t have as much self-confidence as he should, and his shy reactions are everything he lives for.
Jungkook wraps his legs around Jimin’s waist and brings him down, rolling his hips to get some friction as Jimin moves on to his neck, back to being unmarked after so long since they were last together like this.
Jimin is leaving kisses down the expanse of Jungkook’s body, unbuttoning his own pants meanwhile, when they’re interrupted.
The alarm startles them both when it goes off.
Jimin sits up on the bed quickly and starts putting his clothes back on. He tells himself not to panic but deep down he knows his brain is right when it starts screaming at him about who’s standing on the other side of the door.
“Hyung?” Jungkook calls for him, red and swollen lips a contrast to his scared eyes and voice shaking slightly, and Jimin knows he has to stay calm and handle this carefully.
“Whatever happens, whatever you hear…” Jimin starts, grabbing Jungkook’s sweatshirt from the floor and putting it on. “Don’t go there.”
“But-“
“Just stay here.” His voice is firm and Jungkook has no other option but to nod.
Jimin stands in his living room, hands on his waist as he faces the door and almost bites his bottom lip off thinking about what he’s supposed to do next.
The alarm only goes off if someone tries to enter with the wrong code and he has actually managed to set it off a few times before when he forgot it once or twice. But right now no one aside from him and Jungkook has the new code, not to mention he wasn’t expecting anyone to show up so late, especially without a warning from the doorman.
He knows who it is and he’s dreading the moment he has to open the door.
Because yes, he has to do that. The internal panel is broken and he can’t shut off the alarm from the safety of his apartment so he has to open the door and do it on the outside panel – he knew he should have gotten someone to fix it as soon as it stopped working but he never got around to doing it.
The only thing Jimin can do before opening the door is take a deep breath and then he’s face to face with the devil himself, Lee Kwangmin.
“You really changed the code, huh?” It’s the first thing he says and Jimin ignores him in favor of going out and stopping the noise.
The silence that follows is deafening. Jimin is scared of turning around to face him but he knows he needs to do whatever he can to send him away before he notices Jungkook’s shoes or school blazer by the door so goes to stand in front of his boyfriend’s stuff as much as he can to hide them behind his body.
“You shouldn’t be here.” Jimin starts. It comes out weak and he hates it; he was never really able to stand up for himself when it came to him.
Kwangmin doesn’t answer, simply looks around the apartment and then comes to stand right in front of Jimin again. He leans closer and Jimin can’t help but to flinch when he lifts his arm but it’s only to close the door behind him.
He lets out a shaky breath as Kwangmin laughs at his reaction, eyes crinkling and teeth showing, and he used to be beautiful in Jimin’s eyes once but he can’t see any of that beauty anymore.
“How did you even come up here?” Jimin insists, thinking of a way to put some distance between them but he can’t when he’s pretty much trapped against the door.
“There’s a new guy downstairs… Doesn’t know me.” He shrugs. “I said I was your friend and told him not to call because I wanted to surprise you.”
“You can’t be here, Kwangmin.” Jimin tries to be firm but he can’t; his fear is eating at him and consuming all his energy.
“You think a piece of paper is going to stop me?” He asks, his eyes glinting in a dangerous way. “You think your lawyer can stop me?”
Kwangmin reaches out to card his fingers through Jimin’s hair and he gasps, closing his eyes as he waits for the hit that he got so used to in the past. It doesn’t come, instead he only feels his hair being pulled with almost unbearable force and he lets out an involuntary yelp.
“That restraining order means nothing to me.” Kwangmin says, and Jimin recognizes all the anger in his tone. “Open your fucking eyes when I’m talking to you!” He screams, pushing Jimin straight onto the door handle hard enough to bruise his lower back.
“Kwangmin, please…” Jimin’s breathing is picking up, panic rising as he thinks about Jungkook being in the other room and hearing this, knowing he won’t stay there for much longer if he gets too worried.
“You really think you can make me leave?” Kwangmin squints, grabbing Jimin’s chin to make him face him. “After everything you’ve done? You ruined everything for me, Jimin.”
“You ruined it yourself.” Jimin retorts, trying to control his shaky hands and voice.
“No, no, no.” Kwangmin shakes his head, grip still firm on Jimin’s chin. “You were the one that went and yelled at the entire world about our fights. Playing the victim as usual.”
“What do you want?” Jimin asks, and it comes out like he’s begging, tears flowing freely without his consent.
“I want you to pay!” Kwangmin raises his voice again before grabbing Jimin by the arms and throwing him against the glass table in the middle of the room. “You think I can’t get away with this?” He threatens, coming closer, and pulls Jimin by the hair until he’s standing up. “I did it once, I can do it again.”
Jimin can feel the punch that’s coming next, had forgotten what it felt like to be used to this, but he knows it’s coming. And he knows he would most likely be coughing up his own blood now if one thing hadn’t interrupted them.
Jungkook’s soft voice at his bedroom door calling for him.
“Hyung?”
Kwangmin stops, lets go of Jimin and does the one thing he learned to be scared of the most: he smiles.
“Oh, what is this?” He turns to Jungkook and Jimin is still trying to catch his breath, having collapsed back on the floor when Kwangmin stopped holding him. “This your new toy, Minie?”
“Stop.” Jimin finds the strength to get up when he sees the panic in Jungkook’s eyes. He puts himself in between them, doing his best to appear brave when he’s in pain like that. “Get the fuck out of my house.”
“Hm, so for him you can grow a pair of balls, huh?” Kwangmin sneers, shaking his head. “Answer me something… Isn’t he a bit too young for you? I don’t know, he seems a little…” He looks around, spotting Jungkook’s uniform that Jimin tried to hide earlier. “Too pure.” That smile is there again and Jimin knows nothing good can come out of it.
“I’m calling the police if you don’t get out right now.” Jimin takes a step back and Jungkook takes one forward, just enough to place his hand on the small of his back to show him he’s there. “You’re breaking the law just by being here and I’ll make sure you pay for it.”
“You’re always saying that, Jiminie…” Kwangmin sighs, eyes fixated on Jungkook. “Let’s see who they’ll want to hear this time.”
On the weekend of his 18th birthday, Jungkook is dragged across the city by his best friends, away from the suburbs and into a more glamorous reality. There, he meets Jimin, a mysterious stranger that will show him everything his sheltered life kept him from seeing. (10/?)

Jimin is dripping from the rain when he runs into his building’s lobby, having ran out of the company so fast he didn’t even have the mind to go into his office for his jacket and helmet. Seokjin had called him reckless and he supposes that’s true but he couldn’t waste time when Jungkook was hurt at home and needing him.
“Sir?” The doorman calls when Jimin rushes in and he really doesn’t want to stop to chat. “Your, uh… That boy, he-“
“I know.” Jimin interrupts him quite harshly as he makes his way to the elevators, for the first time cursing the fact that he lives in a penthouse and can’t just take the stairs.
“Do you need me to call an ambulance, sir?” He asks and only then does Jimin realize that he doesn’t really know; he has no idea what happened to Jungkook or in what state he’s in, he just knows he has to get there as fast as possible.
“Um, no, I…” Jimin can’t think, not with the fact that his baby is so hurt he could need an ambulance clouding his brain. “I’ll let you know, okay? Thank you.” He says quickly, already inside the elevator as he presses the button to close the doors.
His hands are shaking when he finally pulls his front door open, thoughts filled with the worst-case scenarios and not knowing what to expect as he walks in.
“Jungkook?” He calls out to the quiet apartment but doesn’t get an answer.
With his heart beating at double speed, Jimin goes to his room, hoping he’ll find Jungkook awake. He takes a deep breath by the door and walks in.
Nothing could have prepared him for the sight in front of him. Jungkook was sitting down on the floor by the bed, body awkwardly leaning against the wall, his eyes closed and his skin an explosion of reds and purples. There are blood drops scattered across his shirt, running down from his nose and a cut on his head, and dirtying his hands.
“Jungkook.” Jimin chokes out, too shocked to go any closer.
He opens his eyes then and fixes them on him, but he doesn’t make a bigger effort to move. “Hyung…” Jungkook croaks out and that’s what makes Jimin wake up from his trance.
“Fuck, what happened?” He asks as he kneels next to him, not sure whether he should try to move him or not.
“Some boys…” Jungkook mumbles. “At school.” His head lolls to the side and his eyes close again but Jimin gently gets him to face him again.
“No, no, no.” He says, desperation clear in his tone. “Keep your eyes open, okay?” Jimin asks as he starts to unbutton Jungkook’s uniform blazer that had somehow stayed in place. “Keep talking to me, baby, tell me what happened.”
Jungkook jerks then, and Jimin doesn’t know if he should relieved that he can move like this or scared when he starts crying his heart out. “They took it, hyung, I’m sorry.” He says in between sobs and Jimin can barely understand him. “Don’t be mad, I promise I fought back. I tried to stop them, hyung, I’m so sorry.” He rambles on and Jimin frowns.
“What, why would I be mad?” Jimin asks while he helps the younger out of his bloody clothes.
Jungkook sobs as he lifts his hand and shows Jimin that the ring he gave him when they started dating wasn’t there. Jimin’s blood boils, even more than it already was, and it’s all the willpower left in him to calm himself down and focus on what really matters right now.
“See, I knew you’d be angry.” Jungkook says and he looks so lost and guilty that it breaks Jimin’s heart.
“I’m not angry at you, baby, this is not your fault.” He assures, caressing his cheek as softly as he can. “We’ll get it back, I promise.”
“I’m sorry.” The younger insists, tears still running down his cheeks.
“Please, stop apologizing.” Jimin says, and it sounds way too much like he’s begging but he doesn’t care. “Let’s get you feeling better first, okay?” He sighs and helps Jungkook to his feet. “How does a shower sound?”
Jungkook only nods weakly and walks with Jimin to the bathroom, supporting almost all of his weight on him as he does so. Jimin tries to stay calm and not be too obvious when the younger is finally naked and he has the opportunity to see for the first time all of the bruises painting his body. He can’t help but to close his eyes as he heaves yet another heavy sigh and of course Jungkook notices.
“I look so ugly now, hyung…” He mutters as he tries to cover his chest with his shaky hands.
“No, baby, don’t you ever say that.” Jimin takes Jungkook’s hands in his and kisses his bruised knuckles. “I don’t want you thinking about yourself like this.”
“But hyung…” Jungkook whines, tears threatening to fall again; he’s more sensitive now than any other time Jimin has ever seen him and it only makes Jimin’s chest hurt more.
“No.” Still, he stays firm. “I don’t care what you look like right now, you’re still perfect to me.” Jimin kisses him on the lips softly, mindful of the cut there. “Now, how about that shower?”
It takes some time but Jimin finally manages to get all the dry blood off Jungkook’s skin, making it easier to see where he’s bruised the most but also working wonders on the younger, who looks a thousand times better and more relaxed after they leave the steamy bathroom.
While Jungkook gets dressed, Jimin takes the time to send Hyejin a text. She was the one that helped him the most during one of his darkest times and he trusts no one but her to be there with them now.
Jimin only has time to go to the kitchen for a bag of ice to give to Jungkook for his head and then she’s ringing the doorbell.
“I didn’t know who else to call, you seemed like the best person to handle this since he doesn’t want to go to the hospital and I have no fucking clue how to take care of him right now, I’m so-“ He starts rambling as soon as he opens the door, before she can even get inside.
“Don’t you dare apologize for asking for help.” Hyejin holds him by the shoulders and says seriously, letting herself in right after. “What happened?”
“He got beat up at school.” Jimin sighs as he runs his fingers through his hair. “I gave him a shower and checked for any broken bones but aside from the really ugly bruises and a cut on his hairline and lip, he’s fine.”
“Okay, good, that’s a start.” She nods as she takes her shoes and coat off, some raindrops making the fabric darker.
“I was so fucking scared, Hyejin, he had blood all over him dripping from his head, nose and mouth and I just…” Jimin stops talking and tries to calm down but every time he closes his eyes he remembers how Jungkook was when he found him. “Fuck, I have never been more terrified.”
“He’s going to be fine, we’ll fix this.”
If there’s one thing Jimin loves about Hyejin is her determination and it’s in that that he decides to hold onto now, when he’s unsure of everything else. So he nods to himself and follows her to his bedroom, where she’s already sitting on the bed in front of Jungkook.
“Hey, Jungkook…” She starts out softly; the younger’s eyes are big and attentive on her, though he looks at Jimin quickly for confirmation. “My name is Hyejin, you can call me noona. Can I see what’s underneath that?” She points at the bag of ice and Jungkook nods before putting it away.
“You’re not a nurse.” Jungkook comments quietly while she examines his head. “You work with Jiminie-hyung.”
“Yep. But I know a thing or two about patching people up.” She turns to Jimin, then. “Do you still have that suture needle?”
Jimin nods and goes to fetch the first aid kit from the bathroom; Jungkook doesn’t know if he wants to ask why Jimin would have that at home, so he just lets himself rest against Jimin’s chest when he settles behind him on the bed and watches Hyejin get her stuff ready.
“I really didn’t want to meet you like this, you know…” Hyejin says as she brushes hair away from his forehead and Jungkook smiles weakly as she takes a clip from her own hair and secures his in place.
“Sorry.” He mutters, voice barely above a whisper.
“It’s oppa’s fault for not bringing you to the company sooner.” She answers as if she’s telling him a secret and Jimin scoffs from his spot behind Jungkook.
“You’d freak him out.” He limits himself to say, wishing he had the same talent for making things lighter that she does.
“I would never.” Hyejin gasps, faking offense. “Okay, I haven’t done this in a while and I really wish you’d go to the hospital…” She sighs when Jungkook shakes his head frantically. “But I’ll do my best.”
“Is it going to hurt?” He asks with his nose scrunched slightly. She would coo at him if they were under better circumstances.
“Not more than getting beaten up.” She offers with a shrug and Jungkook thinks for a bit before nodding, apparently satisfied with her answer.
“How do you know how to do this?” He asks when she starts, mostly to distract himself from the needle going in and out of his skin without an anesthetic.
“I had to learn.” Hyejin answers, smiling when she notices how hard Jungkook is trying not to wince; he’s a strong boy, she decides. “You know, my dad wasn’t very good to us. I have an older brother, he’s my best friend. He always protected me from our dad when we were kids but he ended up getting hurt so I started reading about ways I could help him, even though I was only twelve back then.”
“Oh. I’m sorry you had to go through that.”
“It’s okay, we’re in a better place now.” She stops to give Jungkook a break just like she did with her brother back then. “Ran away to Seoul when he turned 18 and I was 16. That’s when I met Jimin-oppa…” Hyejin smiles at the memory and Jimin does the same. “I was begging for a job at a coffee shop and he saw me being rejected in the most humiliating way and offered me a small job at the company, but it was enough to get us food so I took it.”
“That’s nice of you, hyung.” Jungkook reaches out for Jimin’s hand and squeezes it lightly, keeping their fingers intertwined as Hyejin goes back to suturing his head.
“He took a big risk with his dad for me.” She continues, loving the honest adoration she can see in Jungkook’s eyes with every good word she says about Jimin. “He wasn’t the boss yet, he had just turned 20 and was still in training, but he was the same softie he is today; he saw something in me and I’ll forever be thankful.”
“And I was right.” Jimin mutters, heart swelling with pride every time he remembers how hard Hyejin fought to get where she is today.
“Wait, but you have a big place in the company today, right?” Jungkook pouts as he thinks, too distracted to notice that she was already cutting the suture line. “Hyung told me you’re head of the marketing department.”
“Yeah, he helped me study so here I am now.” Hyejin smiles once again, this time at Jimin. “Okay, we’re done here; you’re sure you can breathe fine, right?”
“Yes.” Jungkook answers and takes a deep breath just for good measure. “Thank you, noona.”
“God, you really are the cutest.” She kisses him softly on the forehead and nearly squeals at the dark shade of red dusting his cheeks after.
“Thank you, Hyejin.” Jimin says and she hates how tired he sounds and looks.
“You don’t have to thank me.” Hyejin collects everything she used to throw away and gets up, ready to leave.
“You want some tea, baby? To help you feel better?” She hears Jimin ask Jungkook at the door and smiles to herself; even exhausted like this, it’s still possible to feel the love Jimin has for that boy.
“He’s even more precious in person.” Hyejin says when they meet in the kitchen and Jimin allows himself to smile.
“Yeah, I’m really lucky.” He nods distractedly then sighs. “What the fuck am I supposed to do, Hyejin?”
“You should ask him that.” She answers as she picks up two mugs from the cabinet. “I know all you want right now is to kill whoever did this to him but you have to consider what he wants.”
“This is so fucked up.” Jimin laughs humorlessly as he keeps an eye on the water heating up. “And the worst part is that when I got here he wouldn’t stop apologizing because they also took his ring, as if hurting him like that wasn’t enough. Acting as if it’s his fault, I-“
“Hey… It’ll be fine. And don’t blame yourself either, I can see you thinking that if you hadn’t given him the ring none of this would happen.”
“I just… I guess I’m just not supposed to be happy, am I?” Jimin shakes his head as he puts some water in a pot. “Whenever I’m getting somewhere something like this happens and I…” He sighs, leaning against the balcony and closing his eyes and allowing the tears to finally fall. “It’s hard, Hyejin, it’s so fucking hard.”
“I know, but you don’t have to carry all this alone.” She places a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “You dealt with everything on your own when Kwangmin happened, you hid it from us for months and you would have done it for much longer if Joohyun-unnie hadn’t found out.” Jimin frowns and Hyejin hates that she has to bring that up in a conversation again. “You don’t have to do that now.”
“Hyung?” Jungkook’s small voice surprises them from the kitchen door and Jimin doesn’t have time to wipe away his tears. “Please stop crying, I don’t want you to cry.” He shakes his head as his own tears start filling up his eyes. Jimin is in front of him in no time to pull him into his arms. “I shouldn’t have come here, I should have called Yoongi-hyung…”
“Stop, Jungkook, of course you had to come here.” He says into the younger’s hair as he sobs against his chest. “How many times have I told you that I want this to be like a home to you? I’m just worried about you, that’s all.”
“Yeah, baby, you did the right thing.” Hyejin approaches them and caresses Jungkook’s hair carefully. “I’m going to leave the two of you alone now but call me if you need anything, yeah?”
“Yeah, of course.” Jimin says, and he hopes she knows how thankful he feels for her right now because he doesn’t have the mind to say it. “Jungkookie, baby…” He puts some distance between them and slowly wipes away his tears, looking straight into his eyes. “I love you.”
Jungkook cries harder then, arms thrown around Jimin’s neck as he clings to him even harder than before, and Jimin is glad he didn’t put that water to boil yet.
“H-hyung…” Jungkook sobs and it only makes Jimin hug him tighter. “I l-love you, too.”
Jimin knows that the younger means it and it’s not a heat of the moment type of thing but he hates that their first time saying those words to each other are happening during a terrible time like this.
