Bite sized AU: Timkon Halloween
(No capes)
Tim doesn’t go to Metropolis very often, but when Bruce asks him to go with Damian, so he and a friend who lives there can go trick or treating together, he begrudgingly agrees. He wasn’t doing anything anyways. When he goes and knocks on the door, he doesn’t expect a guy, a hot guy, decked out in goth attire, to open it. (Kon, the punk kid, dressing up as Goth for Halloween, he thinks it’s funny). They spend the whole night talking, watching Damian and John, as he learned the kids name was, run around collecting candy. Tim couldn’t tell if Conner, a name he immediately committed to memory the moment he introduced himself, was actually flirting with him the whole night or not. Maybe he was just like that?
A little fic I've been wanting to write for a while now. Bite-Sized AU stuff! but oops its angst / hurt/comfort
Warnings: Contains discussion of self harm and sh scars
Word count: 1198 words
What if you had the ability to come back from the dead but only once everyone you once knew was gone or had forgotten about you… but unfortunately that one night stand from college is an immortal and you’re never far from their thoughts.
Luke has been dead for over a century by the time he figures out what's wrong.
It's been a lonely century. Watching his loved ones grow old without him was lonely, and he left before anyone else died so he wouldn't need to witness that. The nice thing about being dead was that he only had time to waste and he couldn't get tired, so wandering from city to city kept him relatively entertained while the years passed. He watched the roaring 20s switch to a World War, he sat at Ella Fitzgerald's feet while she sang and watched Elvis from backstage, he traveled with a circus for a few years and stayed in the same house in a small town long enough to watch babies be born and grow into adults.
When the century turned over and the world didn't end, he found his way back home.
He died young, all things considered. There probably wasn't anyone left who remembered him.
But the years continued to pass, and he continued to be unseen and un-alive. He found his parents' graves and the graves of his brothers. He didn't get to meet his nieces and nephews, so they can't remember him, so he starts trying to find his friends and acquaintances. Many of them moved away, and as the years pass he determines that they can't feasibly be alive.
He wanders the city, trying to figure out why he hasn't been brought back yet, but mostly waiting. It's harder than most of the waiting he's done over the past 100 years.
It's February when he spots him, rushing somewhere with his hands tucked into his pockets and shoulders hitched up near his ears against a gust of wind. Something about him sticks in Luke's mind, and he follows. Maybe this man is someone that he followed for a day a few years ago, or maybe he's simply managed to cross paths with him in the city enough times for him to feel familiar. He's almost as tall as Luke, with shaggy blond hair that contrasts with his dark clothes.
Luke takes the train home with him, watching and racking his brain for where he might know him from. He gets off when the man does and follows him to an apartment, and it looks like a normal modern apartment. There's an entire bookshelf of records, some of which look decades old, and another bookshelf is full entirely of what looks like big, old photo albums, more than a guy in his 20s should have unless he's some sort of archivist or historian. Luke wanders, finding multiple guitars in the first bedroom and dodging a dog that must have been sleeping when they first arrived.
It's a grandfather clock that stops him in his tracks. It's large and too beautiful to be hidden back in the second bedroom, with an elaborate and distinctive pattern, the beautiful glass front acting as a frame for the wooden figure of a woman to wrap around, reaching towards the space motif on the clock face like a nymph reading for the stars. The wood is a rich brown, the face aged but obviously cared for, and the weights are a shiny brass.
Luke has seen this clock before, nearly a century ago. It was one of the biggest indicators that he was in over his head when he was kissing the richest boy at his college in the boy's family library.
He finds the man again sitting on the couch, tv on in the background and one of the photo albums open on his lap. Luke studies his face, imagining him in a previous century's fashion, looking at Luke like he was something special rather than a normal boy who had just made a very reckless deal that he suspected would bite him in the butt.
It did, in the form of a runaway automobile three months later. He hadn't talked to Michael in nearly as long, different circumstances pulling them apart before anything as illicit as a gay affair could begin from their one night stand.
Michael turns the page of the photo album, and Luke looks down to see their freshman class picture from college, a few years before Michael even knew his name, let alone what Luke tasted like. It's probably the only picture they ever appeared in together.
Michael traces his thumb over Luke's blurry face, and Luke finally understands who is keeping his as a ghost instead of letting him come back to life.
"Oh, you motherfucker," he whispers. Michael doesn't hear, but Luke is going to make him, and then he's going to make him bring him back.
Bite Sized AU: Caught in 4K (TimKon)
Tim goes on a field trip with his class to Metropolis for some museum grand opening. It’s a combo museum between Gotham and Metropolis, so the main high school in Metropolis is also invited. Kon and Tim meet up at some point, they rarely get to see each other at civilian events like this. Even though they know each others secret identities, Kon can’t help but flush when looking at Tim out of costume, like- he’s just there, beautiful blue eyes out and all.
Because this is the last trip before graduation for both schools, the students decided to put together a type of after party. Long story short, Tim and Kon get caught making out in the background of someone’s TikTok. It goes viral, the Wayne’s are basically the Kardashians here, they have their own TV show in production and everything! (Weekends with the Wayne’s, Making it Wayne, etc)
Everyone immediately knows who Timothy Drake Wayne is, but it takes some digging to figure out that the guy he’s making out with is the son of Lex Luther, who was apparently caught up in a nasty custody battle between Luther and his moms side of the family. Conner Luther Kent. It wasn’t shocking to find out Tim Drake Wayne was with a dude, he was very much openly bisexual, but it was surprising to find out that guy was the son of Lex Luther, Bruce Wayne’s publicly known arch enemy in the business world.
They became the new “Romeo and Juliet” practically overnight.
