out of all the times dahee had been mistaken for a ghost upon entering a classroom, she couldn't really blame her classmates. with her pale complexion, prominent eyebags from sleepless nights, and her long black hair usually hidden beneath a cap or beret, she understood why people might jump or gasp at times when she walked in, probably thinking they've been transported into a horror movie.
but today ? today felt different.
as she stepped inside, she noticed a cluster of students gathered near the back row. their attention seemed entirely fixed on someone seated there. with a group of girls who were rapid-firing questions at the mystery figure. he didn't seem to be answering much, just sitting quietly.
dahee took the seat just in front of the commotion, pulling out her materials and tuning out the noise. she didn't have the energy to deal with whatever was happening. ' i see you've met my teaching assistant, ' their professor announced as he walked in a moment later. the crowd quickly dispersed and made their way back to their seats as instructed. a teaching assistant causing that much of a stir ? she couldn't help the curiosity, eventually turning in her seat to see who it was.
and the moment she laid eyes on him, it hit her like a freight train.
lee haneul. the one person she never imagined she'd cross paths with again. everyone has a first love in their lives, right ? well, he was hers. she'd spent years quietly admiring him, jotting his name into the margins of her journal, her heart never quite letting go. after his graduation, she'd accepted the idea that he was just someone meant to stay in the realm of unreachable daydreams. but now, there he was— sitting casually, eyes meeting hers— and she had no idea what to do with herself.
