Organic Baby Food
It was time to start feeding our little one and I didn't like the idea of the store bought food. There is a certain amount of "other items" that can end up in food such as bug feces or parts. I also didn't want the growth hormones that are in most vegetables. I wanted to make my own organic food for our baby. It is easy and much less expensive than store bought.
I started with one large organic sweet potatoe. I peeled it and boiled it in plain water (no salt). I then blended it in the baby bullet with about 1/2 cup of purified water. The amount of water would depend on how big the potatoe is. I like my food a little thicker because it is easier for her to eat and she spits out less. Blend until it is the consistency that you want. possibly adding more water if needed.
I poured it into ice cube trays and covered in plastic wrap to freeze. Once frozen you put it in a ziploc and label for optimum storage!
Baby B will eat about 1 cube per feeding. I put it in the fridge for one day to thaw and then add a little whole wheat rice cereal and a little purified water.
She loves it!! Enjoy! You can do with carrots, peas, rice and chicken.... so many options for your baby!
Your baby is your most precious thing you made! Why wouldn't you spend a little extra time to try to ensure a healthy future for them!
Chicken Teriyaki Wings
2 dozen chicken wings and drumettes
1 cup soy Sauce
¼ cup honey
2 Tbsps. fresh ginger, minced
5 cloves fresh garlic, minced
2 tsp. Chili flakes or garlic chili paste if you want spicy
1. Combine ingredients in bowl.
2. It is best to marinate the chicken for 6-8 for optimum flavor.
3. Transfer to a baking dish and cook for 25 minutes on 325 covered, or on the BBQ grill for 15-20 minutes.
4. Combine with a fresh Mojito and ENJOY!
This recipe is also great with chicken breasts! I serve it over Jasmine rice with a biscuit and some sauteed veggies!
