admittedly, michel was more than a few drinks in. and when he’s intoxicated, the idea of causing a fair amount of good trouble only becomes more appealing. so, if he steps out for a few moments to trail a rare AB positive mortal, that’s only his and his drunkenly hungry ass’ business. but as soon as he pops back in, stain of his snack still on his lips, he feels the music pulsating through him more vividly than ever and makes his way to the sea of bodies on the dancefloor. and for a moment, in his alcohol-induced gaze, the sight almost reminds him of his nighttime gig at the nightclub. though, he was actually able to enjoy himself to the fullest and forfeit himself to the eclectic beats and energy of the array of immortals. before he realizes it, he moves his body deeper and deeper into the crowd until he finds a woman enjoying herself just as much as he was. he couldn’t help the slight grin that formed as he observed the way she was moving, almost becoming entranced by it. he follows her groove and matches it as he begins dancing behind her, testing the waters as he becomes increasingly closer and closer to her. “mm, nice costume.” he whispers in her ear.

it felt a bit like deja vu as he entered the bar. almost. perhaps it was because he had already fed before entering more than once, adrenaline higher from the night’s festivities, but he was feeling good. better. more excited than last time, despite being surrounded once again by the vampire establishment. but honestly, even that wasn’t enough to bring down his high spirits as he leans on to the bar counter, waving down a bartender and asking for his signature drink with a scarlet letter. as he waits, a smirk spreads across his features as his ears pick up on a familiar cadence, turning his head to glance at the death dealer. when he thinks about it, the two’s relationship to this point has been as antagonistic as it has been comical and if there was one night he was going to extend an olive branch more fully, michel figures it would be tonight.

“fuck, are you following me?” he teases, grays meeting blues as his eyebrows pinch together in mock offense. thanking the bartender with a nod as he’s brought his drink, he clinks his glass against the other’s. “to being stalked by my best friend’s medieval boyfriend. santé.” he jokes once more, unable to help himself before taking a sip. “you think the best party of the night is here?” he asks after a couple beats, half interested to know the other’s grand halloween plans and make conversation, but also half curious to know if that truly was the case. because honestly, michel kind of just craved to be wherever the action was. or, for tonight at least.

there’s not much that michel looks forward to every year so consistently than halloween. perhaps it’s the high amount of intoxicated people roaming the streets — which tends to help make his compulsion easier to go through — or the way he's able to be closer to the most honest version of himself in public. and i mean, always having a costume on deck in the form of pointed teeth in hand was a nice touch, too. but truthfully, the occasion felt a little more special than usual as for one, he at least had someone to spend a good portion of it with. 

“ah, so should i be expecting a bark from you tonight, or?” he teases, chuckling as he nudges the smaller lycan slightly. “that’s how the full moon works, right?” and there’s a tone of sarcasm there, though the air of curiosity surrounding the joke rings true. though he’s steadily learned much about lycan culture through the liberation and hanging around various lycans, he can’t definitively say he knows much about the turning itself. and so honestly, the anticipation of her answer and learning more excites him and his curious spirit even more.

𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 ✞ open. 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 ✞ 8:31 PM. 𝐋𝐎𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 ✞ times square, manhattan.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐆𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐇 𝐁𝐀𝐁𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆  through  the  cramped  ,  narrow  streets  of  times  square  leaves  little  to  be  desires  for  the  death  dealer  --  and  though  the  tantalizing  scent  of  fresh  blood  pulsing  just  a  hair  out  of  reach  should  be  enough  to  render  zaiden  mad  with  bloodlust  ,  the  cross  look  of  finely-done  brows  knitting  together  in  trepidation  seems  to  far  outweigh  the  carnal  instinct  lurking  within  the  beast’s  chest.  tattooed  knuckles  of  his  right  hand  are  caked  with  dried  blood  &  the  inklings  of  purple-yellow  bruises  and  be  easily  picked  out  from  beneath  it  --  and  though  it  hardly  phases  the  vampire  ,  he  shakes  his  hand  out  one  last  time  ,  as  if  the  aftershock  of  allowing  his  fist  to  collide  into  not  one  but  two  broken  noses  is  little  more  than  a  mild  nuisance.

a  low  growl  rumbles  deep  in  his  chest  as  a  slew  of  curses  follow  suit  --  and  as  zaiden  rounds  a  corner  ,  nostrils  flare  once  the  scent  of  something  far-removed  from  humanity  floods  his  senses.  he  comes  to  a  halt  ,  blue  hues  narrowing  into  cold  slits  --  and  though  the  feathered  black  halo  nestled  atop  his  head  is  crooked  &  askew  ,  it  bobs  nonetheless  as  his  head  cocks  to  the  side.  ❛  no  use  in  hiding  ,  ❜  he  drawls  out  ,  his  voice  low.  ❛  i  can  smell  you.  might  as  well  step  out  where  i  can  see  you  before  i  drag  you  out  my  damn  self.  ❜
