I’ll say it rn: I have ZERO expectations for the a:tla reboot thing.

These are the same people who wrote voltron, and we saw what a dumpster fire that was. I say that as someone who counts Voltron as my no.1 fandom, I have zero faith in this writing team and frankly I am terrified to see how they plan to ruin the legacy of a:tla.

I’m not saying atla didn’t have flaws, but after Voltron I’m not willing to trust their writers any further than I could throw them. If I hear people saying it slaps / is the best thing on tv since the original series, I might think about watching? But for now I’m loving the zukka fanart and don’t plan on taking my interactions with the source content further than that.

being still very mentally ill but on the mend enough to avoid returning to your really unhealthy coping mechanisms (mechanisms reference??? 🫵😮!!) is like. goes to the cafe for breakfast (making sure you eat) (making sure you got outside regularly). stares into the bottom of your iced latte like a haggard middle aged man on his fifth beer of the night. gets a job for your mental health (making sure youll be around people regularly) (making sure you're not lying listlessly in bed until you start starving at around mid-afternoon) (making sure you can. afford to live). has a really stressful day and tries not to have a panic attack while bitching about it with your coworkers. hangs out with your friends because self-isolation is bad. barely registers them as people. laughing at jokes. losing track of reality. forgetting where you are. no longer crying in public regularly. going out in public regularly. dressing in a nice outfit. did the laundry recently. haven't showered in a few days underneath. at least one meal a day, more often two. eating vegetables almost daily. almost enough water. circadian rhythm repaired. monumental achievement. you still catastrophise everything. other people find out how youre living and are appalled. its a million times better than what you were doing two years ago. youre basically fine. you havent done anything really bad to yourself in months. how is everyone else surviving. how does everyone else do everything so easily.

it's such bullshit that recovering from a life-altering mental breakdown means that you have to adjust to your life being altered :T

when you develop certain thought patterns and behaviors as a child in response to a bad environment in which they were rewarded and then you move to a new environment and they end up hurting those around you 🙁

does everyone else ever go unacknowledged by the other people in the room just a little too hard and then suddenly you're four years old again wondering what everyone in the new school you were so excited for seems to have against you or should i bring this up with my therapist
