Two chapters out already!! :3
I can't stop making new covers for my current favorite wip fic!!!!!!!!!
First one was my finished piece from last night, second one was a final pass I did this morning after realizing there were a few things that didn't look quite right.
Added some scars and skin marks on Keith, redefined the scales around his waist, gave Lance some redness around his face, hands, and knees, and edited their faces so they were a little squarter.

I’ll say it rn: I have ZERO expectations for the a:tla reboot thing.
These are the same people who wrote voltron, and we saw what a dumpster fire that was. I say that as someone who counts Voltron as my no.1 fandom, I have zero faith in this writing team and frankly I am terrified to see how they plan to ruin the legacy of a:tla.
I’m not saying atla didn’t have flaws, but after Voltron I’m not willing to trust their writers any further than I could throw them. If I hear people saying it slaps / is the best thing on tv since the original series, I might think about watching? But for now I’m loving the zukka fanart and don’t plan on taking my interactions with the source content further than that.
What is your favorite small media trope? Like not some huge overarching thing but tiny like character a ties character b’s shoes or such
Oooooh this is a really fun question!!
I think it depends a lot on who I'm picturing. The one I've been super attached to lately is from a post by @cool-and-grizzled where they mention Keith is a raging cozy gamer and Lance is a super-chill fps fanatic.
To me Keith finds acnh relaxing because raging at something inconsequential allows him to express his feelings without needing to articulate them (least favorite activity) and the overwhelming visuals and quick-thinking scenarios in fps multiplayers (mostly rainbow six siege) help regulate Lance's raging adhd.
They spend hours in the same room playing different games together: Lance in his gamer chair playing with zero visible reaction aside from rapidly moving fingers over the keyboard/controller (I think he'd go for a controller personally) Keith is sitting in his lap, chests pressed together, his legs through the arm rests of his chair, chin resting on his shoulder and arms flopped either around or under Lance's arms playing on handheld (2 red joy cons switch V2, not OLED) muttering strings of curses into Lance's ear. He plays with one headphone muff off so he can commentate.
They first discover this before they get together when Lance walks into the lounge to the tv being on, someone sitting on the couch is playing stardew valley and the save is MASSIVE. He sees their whole farm and it's immaculate. He makes a joke about it and Keith snaps up from behind the couch with dish-plate eyes looking at him like. No. Oh no. You saw.
okay so one big thing I've been thinking through with my voltron redesign (I'm calling it Voltron: Rebel Force) Is that if I'm getting rid of the castle, where do the lions go.
The actual show kinda contends with this in the later seasons too! Without the castle the paladins are stuck in their lions, separated from one another. But the castle is way, way, way to clean and gaudy for any kind of rebel story, at least not as a staple location.
So here's my pitch: Make the lions small.
Hear me out! They don't stay small forever.... instead of having speeders that are used like twice and then never again, the lions kinda... contract, when they're not in use. They're not tiny or anything, but I did shrink them down a liiiiittle more than I would've in order to get them to speeder-size.
Imagine this: Hunk is away from his lion on an alien planet. The galra are after him, he's shouting into his comms for Lance to give him a lift but Lance is occupied down the canyon with a barrage of fighter ships! He's trapped on the edge, the ground gives way under his feet, he's falling, and then-- BAM! Speeder-size Yellow catches him, and FORMS THE COCKPIT AROUND HIM!! Just before hitting the ground they sweep into the air and he's back in the fight!
Not to mention Keith would absolutely go wild over having another speeder vehicle like the one he had on earth, I refuse to believe he wouldn't have taken that thing out for a spin on multiple occasions in series.
This would also make way more opportunities for the paladins to INTERACT with their lions!! For sure red would not let Keith ride her speeder-version on the first go, she's gotta manifest those controls and she would NOT trust him with that off the bat.
I know it's supposed to be kinda iffy on how sentient the lions are, but we get like 10% sentient-teasing in the first season and then they're just like, robots for the rest of the series. If the scale was more equal between the paladins and the lions there'd be way more opportunities for character building between them :3 and maybe even lion interactions!!
lemme know your thoughts, I wanna hear opinions on this positive or negative :3

Guys.
I have 10+ pages of outline written for this Voltron Video Essay/Rewrite.
I've got the first episode paced for reading aloud and the rest are outlined, I'm gonna get season one ready to go and if the video does well I'll make it a series until I rewrite everything.
I'm thinking I'll do it video essay style, I'll have to draw up a little essay-sona but that shouldn't be too hard, especially if I use some PNGTuber software. Of course I'll be illustrating a lot of it myself, using clips here and there, and explaining the process.
I was sort of well-known for doing good world building on my DSMP fic 'Humans are Space Velociraptors' which got a lot of traction on AO3 for a while. If you're into space stories you might enjoy it! Here's a link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/32677774/chapters/81064315
For now I'll give you what I have currently written as my intro. This may change! But I'm just to excited not to share SOMETHING with you guys :3 I can't thank @deareverlasting enough for giving me the idea to redesign the paladins, this whole deal was started when they sent me that ask ^^ I'm really pumped about getting this made now!!
