Shana and Robert ParkeHarrison: Bitter Snow (2014)
Will Cassandra ever stop using the Morganstern name? Why keep using it after she leaves Corona at all?
she does this
traditionally in saporia full names can be very long bc it's given name + paternal name + maternal name + ternary name(s), and it's not out of the question for someone very devout to be involved enough in all three cults of the ternary to have three ternary names.
(& if you have more than two parents for whatever reason it's not uncommon to have more than two parental names)
(cassandra's rièndoish is a ternary name—that's "boar-heart" in saporian. ternary names from the temple are nine theophoric names only malachian witches are allowed to take, and from the barrow it's things like nicknaming someone bone. sitheach is a ternary name that they use in place of their given name, which they've repudiated, and means "ligament")
and the Way you introduce yourself is not full name (necessarily) but the name you want to be called + the name that best expresses your social position in relation to whomever you're meeting, so cassandra will be cassandra hárohȧm to most saporians but cassandra rièndoish to acolytes of the thorn syconium and might be cassandra ghealȧch in ȧrtois because her mother's family is there. but she is also cassandra morgenstern with a select few people like feldspar bc that's how she knows him and she holds on to morgenstern generally specifically to have a way to express that she still feels the loss of not having grown up saporian. to coronans she's on friendly terms with she's cassandra haroham (<- varian is the only one who can pronounce it perfectly) and to coronans she doesn't like she introduces herself the Coronan Way, which is full name, and watches them squirm. lady cassandra morgenstern hárohȧm ghealȧch rièndoish, coronans tremble before her because she'll give you the evil eye if you say it wrong
I decided to sit down and sketch out all my WoLs (not including like, six other joke characters that I have) and I have come to the conclusion that someone should take the character creator away from me.
I got too many lil guys 😵

Thinking about @bestworstcase ‘s Moira Caine… the world’s biggest moronosexual
boar-heart (or someone i have always been)
A political and geographical map of Corona and Saporia inspired by @bestworstcase’s Bitter Snow series!
Note the elevation and distance are not to scale, while additional geographical and political features not present in the series itself, just one would assume to appear in a possible in-universe map.
Im reading the Bitter Snow series and Cassandra is writing back and forth with a duchess she suspects is going to steal a journal from the palace and i assume shes correct but...
its extremely funny to picture the duchess is 100% genuine, she is so pleased she made a friend from Corona who shares her love of history and offers an interesting perspective, while Cass is like "i cant wait to get you in trouble with our king"
