Also I play something I find soothing in the background that i’ve heard a lot (the office, parks and rec or welcome to night vale for me) when i go to sleep so my brain has something to focus on that’s not whatever it can come up with and i’m not trying to keep up with the story it’s just a good brain numbing distraction

This one might not work for me, though; I’m a very, very light sleeper. I’d probably never get to sleep with something playing, no matter how dull or familiar. Even chill music will usually keep me up. o_o

I had a similar problem with clenching not long ago. What I did was changed my routine a little. I do my best to do all the stress relieving activities I can the hour before bed and that helped a lot.

While awake, I know I can just... check in every once in a while to remind myself to unclench, now that I know I’m looking for it. But I couldn’t think of how to do that while asleep. Maybe I just need to unclench my brain, first.

Agreed. And also -- wtf was that nonsense they said about not getting a dog for what you want to do? That's a huge problem. People should get a dog that aligns with their abilities and lifestyle. Like, I'm the person who has a mutt with a boat load of behavioral problems because of his past, but I signed up for that. I would neverrrr suggest someone go and adopt a dog like mine if they don't have the lifestyle that would benefit both them and their new dog's relationship

the whole thing was nonsensical entitled-male bullshit. but there are so many things that this teenager-hating twat said that i think we can all reminisce about for years to come. my personal favourite was the part where he said that when getting a dog you also have to have the entire weight of all the homeless dogs in the world on your shoulders. jokes on you, guy, i already have the weight of the world on my shoulders it’s called general and social anxiety, depression and ptsd lmao.
