A few commissions! The Pride head is mine, I am still not sure if I#ll keep him... The cat octopus dolls were mia white before and are dyed completely.

Starting a dye job dingaling first lol
Czes needs to be a smidge darker than B69 (the leg piece)
30ml dyemore sand stone, 2ml chocolate brown 1 ml peacock green 2 liters water for 3 minutes
I feel like this is my go to light tan recipe.
Some of the coating for fortis's joints don't seem to affect dye reaction too much beyond the inherent weirdness of texture like a golfball
The evaporation got a few pieces a little blotchy so I added 1 liter of water and an additional 2 minute dip. Didn't 100% smooth out some spots but it helped the chest look more even (it was barely submerged for the first dip. Lol learned my lesson. Use more water or do big pieces earlier)
Ended up kind of close to Resione TH-BJD bronze (the toony hand) which is pretty good for the head that needs to be 3D printed. A few spots absorbed more green/yellow for some reason and the anti-slip coating on the torso pieces resisted dye more than the shoulder pieces and I think some of it touched the outside of the belly piece a tiny bit.
But overall no problems a little blushing can't solve
Trying my hand at dyeing a doll for the first time. Dyeing subjects are a Dream Valley Uncia in white that I'm turning into a red panda and a Pipos Mouse in yellow.
I set up a station in the back yard since I heard the dye could smell. It was a good call. Yuck.
End of day 1 the red ended up too light. It got dark and I couldn't tell that they needed longer.
Day 2 I added a little more brown and yellow to the pot and dyed the parts longer. Lost all the magnets in the pot but it was worth it.

Ok!! Today I'm dying Elodies new body to better match her head:
The head has some sun damage though so I'm gonna dye it too.
For the body I'm following this formula minus the orange since it's already got those tones

I am ridiculously pleased with the results of dyeing this head. Since the dye takes slightly differently on various thicknesses of resin (why?), it's like natural contouring already in place. And that Supia sculpting. Wow. 😍
Hey my BJD people
I have a Hujoo Io that I want to try to dye. But she's not made of resin. Do I need to use a specific dye, or are there different techniques that I should use? I've never attempted to do anything other than a basic faceup on my little dolls so this is new to me.
