Wat Arun (Temple Of The Dawn) . Opposite Wat Pho and just a THB4 boat ride is another stunning temple that stands majestically over the water. . Wat Arun is considered by many as one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand because of its architecture and fine craftsmanship. The imposing spire (prang) over 70m high on the bank of the Chao Praya River is one of Bangkok's world-famous landmarks. It is beautifully decorated with tiny pieces of colored glass and Chinese porcelain placed delicately into intricate patterns. (Source: Bangkok.com) . The steps are very steep and I had difficulty getting down. Chao Phraya River Cruise . We wrapped up our #AyutthayaTour aboard the Grand Pearl with a sumptuous lunch buffet. We surely got our money's worth with the sites we visited, very good tour guide, comforable bus ride to Ayutthaya, lunch cruise to Bangkok, then pick-up and drop-off back to our hotel. This tour would be very challenging to DIY so I'm glad we agreed on joining a group tour. Thanks, Mama @goddessified, for recommending this. Bang Pa-In Royal Palace . Day 2 was the day we tour Ayutthaya. We were picked up by the van early. We didn't get breakfast until we reached our FIRST STOP. . Also known as the Summer Palace, the complex was formerly used by Thai kings. The palace has vast gardens, landscaping and beautiful architecture dating back to the 19th century.
