It’s always nice to encounter a herd of Blaarkoppen (translated: Blisterheads). They are endangered but their numbers are growing.
Blaarkoppen have a calm character and are easily approachable and affectionate. But they also can be stubborn and stiff, but rarely nervous.
I love their masks.
Grumpy looking or not, this Blaarkop granted me these three photos so I liked her.
A calf from the endangered Blaarkop breed.
Her herd is pretty big though. I love the way they look with their beautiful masks, and their personalities are both feisty and friendly. It’s a pity that the pasture where they live isn’t very photogenic.
