S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)

Using Sparrow (Fable 2) feels like cheating since he's the player character and by default is built from headcanons, but one I'm very fond of that's been with him since I first started building him allll the way back in 2014 on his RP blog is that his ability to use Will (magic) was damaged from the 10 years of being collared in the Spire. Having all of his Will, an aspect of himself that is so physiology important, be cut off and unable to even feel it for a whole decade really damaged that system. If he didn't periodically use it it would build and build and build until it released all on it's own (especially when in moments of high emotion) which would scar his Will even further. And with his Will being so damaged, by the time his kids get it in Fable 3 (Logan had latent Will abilities fight me on this), the Hero of Brightwall couldn't use their own without an external aid of gloves. Did this headcanon start out as a way of explaining that I forgot which button was the magic and ended up scarring all the townsfolk? Yes. Consider tho, it flows really nicely into the stupid mechanic that Fable 3 introduced.

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

uhhhhh, first thought is a Crime Scene Cleaner AU for Fable (which. now that I think about it really isn't that too far off 😅). Been playing Crime Scene Cleaner a lot and now I'm thinking of maybe a modern day setting for Fable 2, and Sparrow is the janitor and Reaver is the crime boss you accidentally end up being employed by. Though actually Theresa might work better tbh. I unno.

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. (They don’t have to be OTPs because not everyone has OTPs.) Friendships, pairings, threesomes, etc. are allowed.

Oh geez, I really haven't thought about shipping in a while. Since friendships are allowed, I'm definitely thinking about the mentorship and friendship of my Hero of Kvatch and Vicente Valtieri from Oblivion. Absolutely love my vampire teacher I cry every time I get to the Purification in the Dark Brotherhood quest. I need to finish writing that fic.

N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice).

My main fandom is the Fable series. I would love to know more about the Old Kingdom and it's artifacts. I would kill to see what the advancement of Albion was like before it was wiped. Let's see, another thing is definitely more about what Legends would have had, but that's 100% me being salty as fuck about the game being canned because Lionhead went down (I will forever be salty over this). And for the third thing, I want to know more about the world! We've only seen Albion and a little bit of Aurora, and have only heard of some of the others. I want to know about the other countries! What their culture is like! If they have access to something like Will or something else entirely!

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

Honestly I think Charles in M.A.S.H. has one of my favourite development arcs of all time. He's a pompous arse but as the series goes on he looses the seriousness of that edge. He's always going to have a bit of that "I'm better than you" air, but the bite is taken out compared to when he first arrived at the 4077.

Also, how underdeveloped Tara, Matt, and Luke are once they’re introduced, and Emily’s distant relationship with everyone on the team when she comes back.

Reid, both in canon and fanon. He doesn’t learn how to hold himself accountable of his actions, gets away with so much shit, and his feelings are always favored over another character’s suffering.

🫘 Spill the beans. What's a new project you're doing this year?

Ah okay so I’ve got a couple things planned as a follow up to my fic, Turnabout Substitution [x]. But I’ve got another one in my brain currently that’s like… different. It’s a little more slice of lifey with no real plot. But I think it’ll be a good character study!!! I’m not spoiling this one.

So I scoured through my crown jewel fanfic, my baby, my favorite one. And the snippet comes from this chapter of my novel length fanfiction I wrote earlier this year.

I know the ask post said “section” but this whole chapter meant a lot to me, okay???

The chapter centers around a qualifying race for a collegiate long distance track team, literally running. Both characters are having completely different experiences despite being on the same route on the same day.

“Speeding up in that moment was like letting out a breath she hadn’t known she’d been holding since the race started. It was like releasing a taut rubber and letting it fly across the room. The movements were so natural, it felt right. Like the universe was back in balance.

As she passed through the group, it was almost like she’d left her own body. She stopped feeling the rain on her face. She couldn’t hear her breathing or her footsteps. And the runners around her were now vague shapes. All she could see was the road. All she could feel was the pavement under her feet. And all she could hear was the sentence that changed her life, running around in her head over and over again.

“Do you like running?””

The character takes off and is no longer holding back speed wise. It’s freeing! It’s great! Finally she’s running the way she wanted to! And she’s happy!

“And the best way to do that was to move slowly and steadily until the last possible moment. Turtle and the hare style. She nodded to herself, momentally patting herself on the back as she rounded the corner onto the street. A few others pulled forward, but Jiyeong ignored them. Their bodies would just block the wind for her.”

This section is in reference to a more novice runner. She was a sprinter before all this and does not have the same stamina as everyone else there. She’s got speed, though. So she has to conserve energy and pace herself more.

As the chapter continues, the difference between these two becomes more and more apparent. The seasoned runner doesn’t lose steam, finishes third in the entire race. The novice nearly sprints the last kilometer, and manages to cross the finish line with most of the other runners.

“Her sprinting form was shit, amature at best, but her motions did speed up and she managed to surge past the other runners. Her back hurt and her legs screamed in protest, but she didn’t listen. Jiyeong pushed even harder in response, shaking her head a little and repeating her mantra. Just a little further. The crowd was roaring as she approached the finish line, screaming words of encouragement at the other runners. Insisting that they were almost there. Just a little further .”

The end of the chapter is so happy and great. And then immediately in the next chapter, I unleashed an arc of pure angst upon the world. This chapter was so much fun to write and was such a challenge. There was very little dialogue in this chapter, all action and no words. I use dialogue as a crutch sometimes, and this forced me to step out of my comfort zone. And I LOVED IT.
