Please welcome the new members to my family: Marty and Conga. I spent weeks researching on Blood Parrot Cichlids and how to obtain the proper supplies. I spent too much money on these guys (over 250 to be exact). They've adapted well to their new home and had a great meal. Marty is the blood parrot while Conga is the Black Convict. They were nipping at eachother when at the pet store but now they're real chill. Conga got so colorful over the past two months. When I first got her the only colors she has were orange and blue, but she was mainly dull. Now she's like a rainbow fish! Marty also got much larger and is staring to show a little hump. The two black convicts that I thought were both males ended up having babies. Mama Fishie is quite over protective of her little babies. She won't even let me come near the tank without her scuttling the little frys away into hiding before darting at me. Although she doesn't mind it during meal times. Now the question is, what to do with 200 little black convicts? Care to adopt one or two?
