Summary: Natasha takes her anger out on Sam

There wasn’t much Sam could do but sit there and watch Natasha. She was pacing, chewing on one of her nails, brows knitted together. He knew she was angry at him, and there wasn’t much he could do but let her work through her feelings. It wasn’t the first time he had to witness her furious, frustrated with the feelings she had. He would admit that he brought that out in her...a lot. So he sat there on the couch, leaning back with his arms crossed, his dark eyes following her slow moving form.

“Where were you?” she asked around her thumb, the digit she now was chewing on, “Where were you, Sam.” The repeated question was more of a statement now, anger lacing the words.

“Nat–”

“It was rhetorical,” she spat as she stopped in front of him, her hand coming down from her face to place on her hip as her other raised to point a finger at him. “You said you had my back always. And you weren’t there.”

He waited for a moment, seeing if she was expecting an answer or not, and when she didn’t go on, he sighed softly and looked up at her as gentle as he could.

“You did not communicate to me that you needed me there,” he replied measurely.

“I needed you!” Natasha practically screamed, her eyes closing after and swallowed hard. She took a few deep breaths and repeated herself, this time softly. “I needed you.”

Sam reached out and took her hand, pulling her towards him and directed her to his lap. He wrapped his arms around her and pressed his lips to her forehead.

“I apologize, baby. I really do,” he whispered, noting she was still stiff in his arms. “But I really did not know you needed me there. I’m not a mind reader, baby. Just tell him directly if you need me with you for anything.”

Natasha nodded and finally relaxed in his arms.

Summary: Bucky Barnes was not popular in the slightest. He was overly sarcastic, had no interest in fashion, and everything about him screamed “the complete opposite of cool”. Pair that with his sexuality and lack of a left arm, and none of the so-called “Populars” would go near him, except to slam him into the lockers. And Bucky was totally okay with that. It was his last year in school, anyway - and unless his entire year level turned out to be evil clones, he wouldn’t care about any of them. Then Bucky met Steve Rogers. He was handsome, friendly, sweet, funny and completely irrelevant to Bucky’s life. Bucky was determined to ignore him, but Steve had a life of his own - and he was determined to have Bucky in it.
