While it completely came out of left field, the amusing thing about the aliens plot was that it was fairly grounded on something relevant to the premise -- like what if aliens discovered classical music from Voyager Golden Records -- and I think that kind of story fits well as a conclusion to S1. The sumo thing was just completely random and out there. (And in its strange way, I think I kinda love it.)

My problem with the Aliens plot is that this could have been hysterical. Like imagine if they had foreshadowed this a little, a mention or two of the golden record before this point, maybe even Bach getting INTENSE if Aliens were mentioned even causally around him and we’d all be like “LOL CLASSICALOID WHAT? ARE ALIENS COMING TO EARTH? XD”

and Classicaloid literally just fucking does it. Listen I would have been screaming with laughter at the idea that we thought that would have been TOO OUT THERE and Classicaloid just goes “hold my beer”

But ep25 sold me. What’s better than Bach getting his wigged bottom whooped by super sayain Beethoven and Mozart? EPIC ALIEN CONCERT. Like it worked but the writing in ep25 was solid enough to make that happen.

Now the Sumo thing, again, I agree on both points. I didn’t necessarily love the episode but it was fine and did have me laughing! Honestly Dvorak being a Sumo wrestler and just dominating had me howling, that scene where they were like “Hippo.” “Yep That’s a Hippo” “Wow a Hippo” “I can’t believe I’m fighting a Hippo” HAD ME IN STITCHES JUST THE TIMING AND EVERYONE’S DELIVERY OF “Hippo”

I also get why people are disappointed because there’s a lot of mixed feelings about the new season, Some people feel it’s bad, some people feel it’s finally getting better only to have this change their opinion a bit, but honestly this has been the least disappointing continuation of a show that I loved, in fact there’s been a lot of high moments overall! I do hope that people can maybe look back at this episode with a smile as the season goes on and I hope the season can at least end with the right bang like Ep25 did.

DUDE I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA??????????? I just??? I mean, for the most part, Horikoshi’s art is very consistent (now though... he... he might be experimenting a bit, especially with Aizawa lmfao). His anatomy is amazing?? There’s a lot of action in this manga and I don’t remember seeing any awkward proportions and jazz. Maybe there are, but the fact that none of them are sticking with me means that they weren’t too noticeable. He isn’t limited by art style, in such a way that he is still able to make characters with Clearly different body types, facial shapes, and facial details. Dude also very obviously has a passion for drawing shoes??? Have??? You seen how good and detailed he is with them....
