BABEL by rf kuang is so terrible and overhyped and i will never shut up about it. terrible historical immersion, author clearly LOVES some characters and hates others and it flattens them both completely, wants to be jonathan strange and mr norrell so bad… terrible pacing complete shitshow of an ending and wears its decolonial messaging on its sleeve while simultaneously being amazingly classist. makes a big show of historical setting while also getting tons of the facts just plain wrong and just reads as a boring, inaccurate essay more than a piece of fiction. it truly has everything !

I should preface this by saying I definitely spend too much money on clothes 🙈 I love Sezane, their blouses and knitwear especially are stunning. And I recently discovered Nobody's Child, which does the most gorgeous and flattering summer dresses, including the one pictured above!
