The Blackinnon Fest is just around the corner, April is almost here!

For the new people, the Blackinnon Fest is a whole month with activities planned around the ship Blackinnon, for everyone to enjoy and participate, it is the month of April each year, and I can not wait for it to start.

Constellations

Sirius, lying on the damp grass, raised his hand as if he could grasp the stars.

"See that?" he said, pointing to the Orion constellation. "It's always been my favorite constellation."

Marlene settled down beside him, her blond hair illuminated by the moonlight.

"And you're Sirius, the brightest star in the sky." She smiled with a touch of melancholy. "It seems you were destined to shine, even in the darkness."

"Tell that to my mother. She hates me," Sirius said with a smile, still gazing at the sky.

Marlene rested her head on his shoulder.

"What's the name of that constellation that shines so brightly?" Marlene asked.

Sirius traced invisible lines between the stars with his finger.

"I'll call it Marlene. Every time you see it, I want you to know that no matter what happens, I'll love you."

Marlene, overcome with emotion, gave him a passionate kiss.

"I love you too, Sirius."

01 Constellation

The Black family tree was filled with stars and constellations names, Sirius had got curious on why all this relatives had such unique names and found out it was because they were the name of legends, heroes and princesses that had change the world long ago, yet still very much present in human history.

It was a constant on everyone's lives as much as the Black family in the magical community.

Yet for all the years that he spent with the Blacks, and how much time he spent studying stars our of boredom and wanting to make his mother proud, the cluster of dots he remembered most was the one on Marlene's left shoulder.

The first time he saw it was by chance, she had a sundress with no sleeves, and he thought it looked like a constellation that he had studied all those years ago.

He tried thinking of everyone one he knew by memory, and then he had tried to look it up in one of the books at the Hogwarts library. Sirius remembered James teasing him about Black names, and how much of a dork he was being. But Sirius couldn't get the little noise in his head that that little patch of skin made every time he saw Marlene.

Until one evening it was the two of them, summer sky above, sundress on, and Sirius just sitting next to Marlene feeling the universe finally made sense. Marlene was her star, her little freckles his constellation, the very same thing that made all others name the stars Millennia ago.

Part 8: Sirius

“You never talk about your star,” she told him.

He was slightly thrown off by her comment, but he followed her gaze automatically, finding the star almost instantly. It was impossible to miss, shining bright in the winter sky, it burned more brilliantly than any of the others around it.

“Do you want me to tell you about it?” he asked.

Marlene shifted onto her side so she could face him, resting her head on her arm. “I just think it would make a nice change,” she said lightly. “You talk about your family’s stars a lot, but never your own.”

Sirius tilted his head slightly, considering that. “I think mine’s kind of boring,” he admitted. “It’s just the brightest star in the sky.”

“That’s hardly boring.”

“And it’s part of Canis Major,” he continued. “The dog constellation.”

Marlene’s eyes brightened.

“It’s part of Orion’s hunting dog. Sirius marks the collar of the dog, actually.”

“That’s not boring at all,” she said. “I think it suits you.”

“Does it?”

“Yeah,” she nodded.

Blackinnon 2026 Prompt Day 1

The stars are brightest when it is cold out. That was what her father had said when she was really young. Their family had waited out to watch The Great Comet of 1965. Now in 1979, wrapped in her jacket and scarf, Marlene agreed.

The stars were beautiful to admire. She recognized some constellations and knew some of the stories behind them. She was skeptical that the stars told the future, but if they did trace out stories for their lives she had to wonder, are the stars aligned or crossed for them? But she didn’t ponder it long, she simply liked to just admire their existence. Lights in the dark.

She and Sirius were walking after he had been engineering the muggle bike all afternoon. They had went to her parents and ate dinner and were now walking the path around her parents’ home. A change of pace. It was still and peaceful out. A break in a turbulent time of life, a hope in the dark. A moment to just breathe as the stars shined above.

Stars in her eyes

Sirius sank to the floor, his back against the wall, and let out a weary sigh as he looked up at the sky.

Marlene approached slowly, knelt down in front of him, and made him look at her. “Do you know what I see when I look at you?” she asked, with a gentle smile.

Sirius raised an eyebrow, smiling with a hint of arrogance.

“I suppose the handsomest man you’ve ever seen in your life.” She shook her head and her fingers gently brushed his cheek.

“No. I see the stars in your eyes, Sirius, and as long as they shine,

I know there will be a future for us.”

He fell silent, surprised by that confession.

“Then promise me you’ll never stop looking at them,” he whispered, with a hint of vulnerability he rarely showed.

Marlene kissed him, sealing a promise.

“Promised. As long as there are stars in your eyes, there will be hope for us.”

Stellar

The sky was full of stars, and Sirius looked up with a smile on his face.

“Marlene, every time you see the sky full of stars, I want you to know and remember that you’ve lit up every day of my life since you came into it.”

Sirius leaned in and gave her a long, passionate kiss, and they melted into one another, shining like the star-filled sky.

Nebula.

Sirius and Marlene had escaped to the outskirts of London, seeking a moment of calm and peace far from the war raging all around them.

Among the stars, a nebula shone with shades of purple and blue, as if the universe wanted to remind them that even in chaos, beauty and hope could be born.

“Look at it,” whispered Marlene, pointing upward. “It's so beautiful,” he replied, his eyes sparkling.

Sirius looked at her for a moment. “I wish we were nebulae,” he said, gazing at Marlene's face.

Marlene turned to look at Sirius and met his gaze. “Why?” she asked. “Because we’d burn together, intensely, loving each other… even if only for a moment just you and me, without this damn war,” said Sirius, taking her hand and giving her a gentle kiss.

Marlene smiled sadly“ I, too, would rather burn with you for an instant than live an eternity without you“

After that, their lips met in a fiery, inevitable kiss, like a stellar explosion. Beneath the nebula, two souls shone as one.
