#IfIDieInPoliceCustody just know I DID NOT COMMIT SUICIDE!!! The deaths of Sandra Bland and Kindra Chapman come at a time where America is trying to face the reality of racism...the reality that we've lived in since being brought to this country. I am trying not to let my anger be the driver of change but sometimes it is the perfect catalyst for revolution. How can we not be outraged when our beautiful black brothers and sisters are being lynched by the "peace officers" sent to protect us. And while the gov is making it seem like these incidents are self inflicted, it seems all too convenient of a cover up. I should not be scared to get pulled over because they might hang me and blame it on me! I should not be afraid to hang out with friends after a certain time of night! I should not feel misrepresented in almost all ways as a black american woman! #IfIDieInPoliceCustody don't let them say I didn't deserve it because of my educated background and pleasant reputation....NO ONE DESERVES IT regardless of their history or financial status. It may feel like we don't have the power but it is because of our power that they want us gone. Even if it is challenging, let's make the commitment to incorporate at least 1 BLACK CURRENT EVENT (positive and negative) into our daily convos...whether it be with someone young, old, family, friend, acquaintance, POC or not...we need to get comfortable with talking about it because the very real truth is that the revolution will absolutely not be televised ✊🏾 #SayHerName #SandySpeaks #KindraSpeaks #BlackInAmerica #GrowingUpBlack #revolution #YouthSpeaks #BlackInSac
