Sweet Dreams are Made of This
José had watched one or two of Black Jack’s cartoons back in the eighties? Was it? That was when Disney was starting to suffer, and some studios were starting to lament the commercial state of the industry, what he saw as the first public show of solidarity in the medium. But he so like Black Jack’s character and co-stars, and he was one of the characters outside of his bubble that he came to start dreaming about. Many of these dreams involved dancing together in the colorful, bubbly void, almost as though they were acting together. Now that he’s come to know Black Jack as a person, José appreciates these dreams even more. It does him good to see his friend smile like that.
Black Jack is...admittedly not that well-adjusted. José loves him bunches, but there are times that he does worry. Nightmares of him are rare, even on topsy-turvy nights. But when they do occur, he never actually sees him. He usually hears that something bad has happened to Black Jack, or he sees the crowd of toons and humans alike crowding around someplace he was, only to be trampled down and woken up before he can see what’s happened. Recovery from these dreams depends on the night, but it usually makes him feel so much better to hear from him again.
