Hey just something i want to say (and before i do i want everyone to know i myself am white)
90% of white people are so fucking obvlivious to white privelage
About 2 years ago (i was 13 at the time) me and my sister were eating lunch at a restaurant, we saw a car whip into the parking lot really fast and thought that was weird. My sister told me to start recording. As i was getting my phone out and onto the camera the car slowed down in front of a POC man (specifically a black man) and a white guy jumped out of the passenger seat. The car sped off around the corner and the white guy walked up to the other guy, the white guy punched, him hard enough to knock his sunglasses off and leave a scratch from the glass. (I got the sunglasses part on video and the rest of the fight) after that the white guy continued to punch/fight him and the other guy was ONLY blocking. We heard sirens, the one attacking pulled out his phone and the car came back, picked him up, and raced off. As soon as the cops came me and my sister were done, we went to our car and drove to the exit of the parking lot when we saw the black guy getting handcuffed. We immediately turned around and ran over to the officers showing them the video we took. And let me tell you EXACTLY what the officer said to me-
Me-“him *points at the white guy*”
“Him? *points at the black guy*
Me- “NO! The white man. Do i need to be more clear?”
Me-“no one, he pulled up, got out, and punched him.”
Me- “no officer. I domt know how i can say it any clearer, the WHITE man got out of a car that sped into the parking lot, walked over to the BLACK man, and the WHITE man punched the sunglasses off of the BLACK man. Do i need to repeat myself?”
“....okay. I need your phone number and email so we can have you send that video over.”
Me-“im a minor, i will not give you my phone number or email address. I will give you my parents number and email.”
We then gave the info, walked out, and heard the cop radio to the one detaining the guy telling him to uncuff him, i domt know what else happened because we left, but i am so so glad we went back. Things for him could have ended so badly, as far as i know from reporters the attacker was arrested and he was let free.
White privilege is REAL. If you dont think it is you are blissfully ignorant and oblivious. The fact that its real is terrible. Support BLM, they deserve rights, to have safety, and to be able to do daily things without fearing for their life.
