Hey, Y’all I’ve seen little to nothing on my dash about Charlotte Uprising or what is happening in Charlotte right now. There are protestors working constantly, risking jobs, lives, and personal safety in response to black death at the hands of police officers. North Carolina is considered to be in a state of emergency, and the national guard is in Charlotte. Police and National Guard are targeting protestors, especially black and brown folks, and inciting causing violence. Charlotte police even killed another black man while he was protesting - and blamed it on civilians. There is really so much going on, and media has been giving false portrayals of the action - and donations are needed to help folks get out of jail (riot police have been seen just pulling people off the street and arresting them) Here is a link to the Charlotte Uprising website -- They have places to send bail fund donations, learn about the murder of Kieth Lamont Scott, news stories to share, and a petition for folks to sign uplifting the demands of organizers. Please, many of the folks out there are Queer, Trans folks - many of whom don’t have disposable income and are devoting their lives to this work. They are truly incredible people and I am honored to know a few.
