Orlando Surf Expo

Black Sand Publishing attended the 2014 International Surf Expo in Orlando, Florida this year. What an awesome event! All the big names in surf attend such as Billabong, Rip Curl, Volcom, and so many more.

Black Sand Publishing had a full display in the Boutique section of the event of Heather Brown Surf Art, which was an absolute hit among the surf, SUP, Skate, Swim communities, both vendors and visitors. Heather Brown is now in roughly 80 accounts worldwide, making quite a name for herself, including recent licensing agreement with Japanese Airlines to cover four aircraft carriers with her artwork and her clothing line with Rip Curl. But did you know that Heather Brown has her very own clothing line? High Tide Apparel new line was launched at this years Surf Expo offering a men's and women's line: baseball tees, tank tops, pocket tees, and loose fit boyfriend tees. November Save the Date

Black Sand Publishing is prepping for a very fruitful November with Halloween over and Thanksgiving on deck, fall is officially in full swing. Save the date for one of the most important events Black Sand Publishing will be attending, our very own Heather Brown has donated her piece "Waimea Morning" to the silent auction as well as the poster artwork for the John Kelly Environmental Achievement Awards.

Saturday November 16th is the John Kelly Environmental Achievement Awards, taking place from 6:00PM to 11:00PM at Waimea Valley on the North Shore of O'ahu. This landmark event will feature a dinner, silent auction, and live music, hosted by the Surfrider Foundation.

The John Kelly Awards will be hosted by the Surfrider Foundation, a non-profit grassroots company devoted to the world's natural ocean, waves, and beaches. This company is based in Hawaii where the beauty of the sea is inescapable. Founded in 1948, by a passionate group of surfers in Malibu, California the foundation has evolved into 50,000 plus members and 80 chapters spanning across the globe.
