Black Walnut Pau Wau::From Fort Neyuheru:ke Awakening

I’m using Maiwa Ground Black Walnut Husks in what my Momma calls the Fermentation Slow Cook Method. The traditional method is to crush the black walnut hulls with a smooth river rock and grind them in an old coffee grinder.  But I’m using Maiwa’s product, which is the finest ground I’ve seen.  Preparing walnut hulls for dyeing is eliminated, and we are freed to dye all year.  I started by filling a half-gallon Mason jar half full of rainwater and adding a cup of Maiwa Ground Black Walnut Husks.
