Ierys Venati. Pls tell me as much as you'd like about her cause I love her.
Aaahh, thank you! I’m so glad u love my Tevinter girl. Here’s the info about her, along with some extras since u asked for more. ;)
Ierys Venati :: The Liberati
Pronouns: she/her/hers
Age: 32 during the events of DA:I Trespasser.
Height: 5′9″
Orientation: pansexual 💗💛💙
Love interest: Hanin Lavellan (who belongs to @thereluctantinquisitor) was her original love interest when I created her. I still love the two of them together tbh, but it’s been ages since Kayla and I talked about the two of them. If I was going to pair her with any of the canon love interests, it’d probably be Sera. But honestly, I can also see her not having a love interest and preferring to remain solo. She’s had...some bad experiences with losing the people she’s fallen for in the past.
Place of origin: Born and raised in Minrathous, the capital city of Tevinter.
Class and specialization: Rogue. The games make you choose between archer or dual-wield, but I def imagine her using both. I think I originally had her take the Tempest specialization, but now that I’m reexamining her backstory, I’m not sure it makes sense. She’s more about stealth and subterfuge. I’m gonna go ahead and say she’s some combination of the Shadow spec from DA2 and Tallis’s unique Infiltrator spec.
Occupation and affiliations:
Tevinter Magisterium. As a Liberati, Ierys enjoyed more privilege than most elves in Minrathous and was permitted to work as a low-level bureaucrat within the Magisterium itself. She served for several years as a clerical aide to a Tevinter magister named Xanthia...until she learned Xanthia was merely using her as a political tool to curry undeserved favor among the Liberati.
Siccari Agent. After leaving Xanthia’s service, Ierys wanted to get as far away from the politics of Minrathous as possible. She enlisted with the Siccari, Tevinter’s elite covert operatives, and was soon sent to Seheron. She spent many long years there fighting the Qunari...until the Siccari gained intelligence of a Qunari invasion of the south, and Ierys was dispatched to the Exalted Council at Halamshiral.
Spymaster to the Inquisitor. After Leliana became Divine Victoria, the Inquisition was in need of a new Spymaster. They made do for a couple of years, getting their intelligence from Sera’s Red Jenny network and Josephine’s contacts instead, but by the time of the Exalted Council it’s clear they need a spy. Ierys, who was sent south by the Siccari to track rumors of a Qunari incursion, ends up crossing paths with the Inquisition during the events of Trespasser. By the end, she gains enough respect for Inquisitor Lavellan to accept when he offers her the job.
Red Jenny. I don’t know when she’d have time to run around with the Jennys, but I do love the idea of her joining their little band at some point.
An NPC they would like: Sera. After years of trying to accomplish good -- first through the machinations of the Magisterium, and later through waging war in Seheron -- she’s grown disillusioned with politics as a solution. She admires Sera’s tenacity in taking justice into her own hands.
An NPC they would hate: Iron Bull. She wouldn’t hate him so much as distrust him. She spent too many years fighting in Seheron and saw too many of her friends die to trust a Ben-Hassrath agent -- even one who has supposedly left the Qun behind.
Three words to describe them: Cynical. Hypervigilant. Agile.
What fear would be found on her tombstone in the Fade: Being a pawn in someone else’s game and/or not being in control of her own destiny.
What demon she would be most vulnerable to: Sloth demon.
