Would a coord look bad if it was solid black skirt, white blouse, white lace ankle socks, black Mary Jane type shoes, black cardigan, white petticoat, and black headdress/headbow? I know how much b/w coords can look ita if one isn't too careful

I think that sounds fine as far as I can tell just based on reading and not seeing the actual pieces. The color of your petticoat doesn’t really matter so much since it shouldn’t be showing so white is a good color for a basic petti that can be worn under any color skirt. Black and white coords aren’t inherently bad, it’s just a matter of balance (which seems fine here) and overall quality of the pieces. Usually where black and white coords go wrong is in cases where it’s a black skirt/dress with white lace and the lace is poor quality which is very evident due to the high contrast between the colors. I have a blackxwhite tag if you want to take a look and get a better idea of what goes into a good one.
