Flexible cystoscopy under local anesthesia is a diagnostic procedure that allows a doctor to examine the inside of a person's bladder and urethra using a flexible cystoscope, which is a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light at the end.

During the procedure, the patient is awake and conscious and receives a local anesthetic to numb the area around the urethra. The doctor then inserts the cystoscope into the urethra and advances it into the bladder, allowing for a detailed inspection of the bladder and urethra.
