Hey uh
Hi??? I exist now lmao
So we've got a new alter? Blair, he's a disaster bog man that is always a bit scraped up but doesn't mind it so he handles when the body is in a bunch of pain, as well as getting us places when the body is really weak or beat up, he's been around a while we just weren't aware! He's not a fi/active of anything but did get his name and a few traits from the Blair Witch Project
[That feeling when you want to ice skate, but where you live, most people don’t know that you can move on ice. I really want the hockey season to start again.]
Entry 217.5
[Blair mod here, I wanted to figure out what sort of impact the meteor heading toward Hoenn would have. I thought 6 miles wide sounded pretty big. I had typed up a long post, but Edge destroyed it. I don’t want to have to type it all again. At the same time, I spent an hour just on calculations, so here’s an abbreviated summary.
Basically, assuming the best and being as far away (but still in Hoenn) as possible some fire, rock, and steel types survive, most everything else dies. There is a M9.3-M9.5 earthquake, then there’s a 300-500 foot tall tsunami that arrives in about an hour or so. The day is lengthened by a millisecond. Assuming the worst, the tsunami wave is about 2000 foot tall and the earthquake is M9.7. This all assumes a common velocity of 17km/s.
Now, we aren’t dealing with a normal meteor and I like going big, so let’s assume a velocity of 72km/s (about max possible).
There is a M10.5 earthquake (could fracture 1/4th of the planet at that size), a crater 200 miles wide, and if the meteor lands in the water a tsunami 2100 feet high. The day lengthens by 4.7 milliseconds.
Kanto, Johto, and Sinnoh all suffer some destruction of buildings and 90% of the trees are blown over.
Tldr: It could destroy most life in Hoenn and could cause some fatalities in other regions (basically look up images of the Tunguska blast and imagine a Kanto, Johto, or Sinnoh being in it). It could be a devastating impact, even in the best case scenario.
If you want to test meteor impacts out, I used this program. Note that you won’t be able to replicate my results with just the quick numbers there. I used slightly modified numbers based on a sedimentary rock density instead of the drop down densities they have there. If you want my numbers or some of the formulas for calculating this stuff, just message me.]
momo is actually the kindest and sweetest human and sHE’s SO TALL it’s my favorite thing. I hope you appreciate her as much as I do💗
