grace thomas - dated a bit on and off throughout dash’s sophomore year. dash and grace had a few classes together and she really liked him and they had a lot in common so dash asked her out. they never got super close and dash was increasingly distant and eventually they both decided it was best to just not be together anymore period. they went on “breaks” very frequently or would go weeks without talking. she knew from pretty early on that even though it didn’t affect his feelings for grace, dash had trouble ending the feelings he had for roman and eventually he decided it wasn’t fair to her and ended it for good. they don’t talk anymore but they parted on good terms.
andre spencer - dash played baseball with andre in colorado during the summer before his junior year. they hung out a lot (a LOT) that summer and spent a lot of time training, hanging out, and pretty much everything else together. they never had sex but they did do sexual things. they didnt keep in touch after the summer and when dash went back the next summer andre was nowhere to be found

newt’s mom dies of a heart attack when he’s 19 and he’s so devastated by it that he takes a break from college and moves in with otter for six months
before going back to school he reaches out to find his father, brian newton, sr.. he finds him but decides he doesn’t want to meet him. at this point he drops the newton from his name and is just brian chavez. the only person who calls him newt is otter.
newt has a yeti rambler his mom got him for his birthday that he carries with him all day. he also has a camelbak backpack that he has with him. newt feels best when he always has water on him.
