Blake Mansfield, Derry’s resident dreamboat. Everyone is town knows who Blake is. He’s the all American, good looking, perfect teenage boy. Quarterback on the football team? Of course. Every girl at Derry High wishes they would catch a date with the blonde. His perfect blue eyes and his sandy blonde hair make girls weak in the knees. The change rooms full off the weekends new gossip about Blake hooking up with yet another girl at some party. Of course everything people think is true… right? He’s definitely the perfect ladies man that everyone wants. He’s definitely not secretly derry’s biggest Judas Priest fan. He definitely doesn’t play his heart out every night in his basement, bashing his drums in. He definitely doesn’t lay awake wondering how soft the boy he sees smoking weed next to his van’s lips are. Definitely never wondered about what the girl in the leather skirts hands would feel like around his neck. no. Of course not he’s just another boring priss who only thinks about football and chicks.

The Audition

Bored. thats the only thing going through Blake’s mind. The utter boredom he feels as he sits with his “friends” at their usual lunch table. The guys blab on about sports and the girls cling to their boyfriends so closely they may as well need condoms. His gaze is zoned in on his Mac and cheese which he pushes around lazily. “Blake? Blake?! Earth to Blake!” one of Blake’s friends waves infront of the blondes face, causing him to snap out of his trance.”sorry man… got distracted.” “Thinking about some girl you fucked at Jason’s party?” blake just forces a smile and motions his head upward a smidge. The priss’s go back to their gossip as Blakes eyes are drawn to a familiar loser. Sawyer Tomas his eyes follow the boy as he carry’s a stack of paper with him. He approaches the school bulletin board stapling one of the posters to it with a sigh. The brunette stares at it for a few seconds before walking off. Blakes gaze follows the boy, his face heating up. ”who we lookin at?” Blakes friend said with a chuckle.”hot chick?” blake nods sharply before standing up and walking quickly to the bulletin board. Looking at whatever it was that the stoner left there. “BAND TRYOUTS! DRUMMER WANTED!” thats whats on the poster. Along with instructions to meet at the music room after school that day. this was his chance. his chance to finally be who he really was, his chance to finally meet the boy who he thought hands looked big and perfect for holding… but in a friendship… way… and maybe if he got in good with him he could meet the girl who walked down the hallway with such confidence it was hard not to stare.

3:11 hits and Blake practically skips to the music room, holding his sticks tight in his hands, his varsity jacket proudly displaying the “Mansfield” on the back. He stops infront of the door, taking a few deep breaths before opening the door. he looks around at the four people that already fill the room, his eyes stopping on sawyer. “Um… hi there.” @rockfailure

today wasnt like most days, the halls were still dirty, the bathrooms still full of graffiti but… the smile on local football jock, Blake Mansfield, his smile was gone. He always smiled…. Even if it was fake he always smiled.

now at lunch he sits alone, on the bleachers watching the trees sway in November breeze and just a week before he was enjoying the October rust (TYPE O NEGATIVE REFERENCE?) but now he’s alone. His eyes are dark, not just in the way of sadness but in the way of he’s wearing makeup? The famous (town famous) football player who according to everyone hooks up with girls every other day… is wearing eyeliner?

he sighs and turns to the side and that’s when he realizes someone sitting next to him staring at him.

“JESUS, holy shit man don’t scare me like that.”
