jaytodd2012 prompted: cooper meeting and approving of sam then playing matchmaker for blam with tina's help
"Thank you for meeting me here today."
"Um...you're wel-"
"Your assistance is greatly needed on this mission. I've enclosed the details of your assignment in the envelope." Cooper slid the blank white envelope across the Breadstix table to Tina, who took it and opened it reluctantly.
"You want to... get Blaine and Sam together?"
"But Sam's straight."
"I doubt it," Cooper says, waving Tina off. "So the first phase of the plan-"
"I didn't agree to this-"
"-is to sneak them onto a date togeth- wait, what do you mean?"
"I mean I never said yes? I just think that maybe meddling in Blaine and Sam's love lifes might not be the best idea. And besides, this whole superhero approach thing is kind of weird. I mean, I can see where Blaine gets it now, but still."
Cooper frowns. "This isn't superheroes, Tina, this is spies, and I need the research for an upcoming project."
Tina hums to herself, then slides the envelope back across the table.
"So, you don't want to help?" Cooper asks.
"What's in it for me?"
"The satisfaction of finding happiness for your two best friends?" Cooper tries. Tina shakes her head.
"Not good enough. I love them to death, but that would still leave me single. Also, I still don't think this is going to work, even if I do help."
"Fine. I'll pay for your meal."
"You already agreed to do that when you invited me here."
Damn. "Well...I'll buy you another?"
"You could do that...or...I've been thinking it's about time that I got back to my colored roots. You can pay for my next hair appointment."
"Deal," Cooper says. "So, like I was saying - Phase One."
-------
"Are you sure this is the right idea?" Cooper asks Tina quietly as they creep up the stairs of his house. They can hear music coming down from Blaine's room even with the door closed, so he's not too worried about them being overheard, but it never hurts to be safe. "He might think it's suspicious if he sees us working together."
"I'm telling you, it's not going to be any more suspicious if it's me asking Sam to hang out on our own. We just don't do that kind of stuff. Blaine is always there."
Cooper wants to argue further, but they're already at the top of the stairs in front of Blaine's door, and he figures there's no going back now. "Ready?"
Tina shrugs. Cooper can tell she's still not fully devoted to the mission. They'll have to work on that later.
He reaches for the doorknob, turns it, and pushes the door open. "Hey baby bro, we- whoa."
Of all the things he expected to see, it was definitely not his little brother straddling his best friend as they lay horizontal on the bed, lips fused together. Blaine sat up on Sam's waist, hair ruffled into all different directions from where Sam's fingers had obviously gone through it, and looked indignantly back at Cooper.
"Do you knock?"
That jump-started Cooper into action as he scrambled to shut the door, words spilling out of his mouth. "Sorry! Really sorry, so sorry, stay safe, be good, see you later, sorry!"
He finally got the door slammed behind him as he turned around to see Tina. The look on her face told him that she'd seen almost as much as he did.
"So...mission accomplished?"
Tina blinked, then snapped to attention. "I guess. It was nice working with you, Cooper."
She turned to skip down the stairs, looking as if she'd rather be anywhere but near her best friends making out at that moment. "I'll send you my bill!" she called back to Cooper before shutting the front door behind her.
Cooper groaned, leaning back against the door, before remembering just what was going on beyond that door and quickly retreating to his own bedroom. His brother deserved some privacy.
