44 years ago today in Australia, I was being born. No doubt I was feeling confused during the experience, wanting to scream with pain and cry from lack of words to express the transformation. As I woke in LA this morning, I was again overcome with emotion. Wasn’t exactly sure why, but some wise friends told me I was probably going through some sort of spiritual growth, or a rebirth if you will... then unexpectedly I got invited up to Laird’s house, and moments later was in an ice bath. Surrounded by giants of strength and surfing, I wanted to hold my own on this first attempt, but wow, I was in more apparent discomfort and fear than I’ve ever consciously known.
