new doll head with faceup progress pics!

I got a new doll head!! it's a Luts KDF Diez! I bought it off a friend after randomly falling in love with the sculpt, and I somehow love the sculpt even more irl!!!!

I gave it a faceup, even though I only had a tiny bit of sealant left and I haven't done a faceup in years.. the faceup didn't get properly sealed, so when I put gloss over the lips, the details just melted off.. it turned out really well regardless, and I'm quite proud of myself!

I specifically wanted to have no plan with this doll before actually getting it, and now I'm just so excited to get it a body, some clothes and a wig! I want the character to be nonbinary, but I will refrain from giving it a name or refer to it as anything other than an "it" before it's complete and feels like it can have more of an identity of it's own. for now, I have nicknamed the head as "the sleepy baby" because of it's sleepy expression

Peak’s Woods FOC and Dandy BJD: 2008 suntan Goldie and 2017 blue-grey Kasspio Ugh PWs dolls are so gorgeous! We’re about to get fitted with hard caps and then new face-ups... wish me luck!!

And here she is!! I actually received Susi on Monday, but I forgot to post an updated here. She’s very pretty, I’m pleased with her! I’m dying to paint her, but first I need to finish at least one more commission before I can take my brush to her face. I also need to trim the wig badly, but all in due time!

Her elbow joints are a little wonky, like it takes a lot of pulling and force to get them to go double jointed like in these pictures. But it’s nothing I can’t work with! I also realized that I’m going to need to buy some SD16 girl pants, preferably blue jeans, or black pants (if anyone has any for sale, please PM me! I can show feedback from DoA!)

I replaced the elastic she came with with some from my own stock because it was way too weak and made her horribly floppy. I sueded her too while I was at it. I had a bit of a mishap while restringing her. One of her foot s-hooks slipped and shot into her leg, embedding itself nicely in the resin. It took about half an hour to get it out, I finally had to grab a screw driver and punch it out. At least there’s no damages so that’s good!

Susi is an April Story Betty in normal skin. Eyes are glass eyes from Ersa Flora, and her wig is from Monique.

My @harucasting Adori and my dog Sem, who even licked her legs (the fabric, don’t worry). He is so sweet with my dolls. I love them both. When my picot Ashes comes in, Adori will be send to the face-up artist.
