This is a post to show what Aizawa’s gifted goggles look like! I got some help with the design from reader CoupCumber who actually knows what she’s talking about. While I’m just going with what felt right when it comes to gadgets and gizmos. :P Below the line for visual convenience.
Anyway! Originally I was going to have Izuku and Aizawa have the exact same goggles which is this:
But after talking with Coup, we decided it was best for Aizawa’s to have a slightly different design to better fit his character. Which I totally agree with. Reason being that for Izuku, the wider goggles fit well with his design. But for Aizawa it looks kind of awkward. As seen below in my (Izuku) and Coup’s (Aizawa) comparison.
Instead Coup suggested a slimmer design when it comes to Aizawa’s goggles. Again, I totes agree. ^___^ This sort of design is better for his character. Coup’s suggestion was this:
Which are super cool and do make sense for Aizawa. Though there were some elements I wanted to keep from my original design. Like the solid screen and more angular shape of the frame. With this in mind, Aizawa’s BC goggles are redesigned to this!
This is more to show the new design of Aizawa’s goggles than to talk about the features. This post is specifically for chapter 13 when Aizawa first gets the goggles and more details of the functions are in later chapters after that. :) Anyway, those are Aizawa’s goggles! :D
Blank Canvas: Convictions - Izuku’s Post Hosu Costume
To readers of my Blank Canvas AU, hey there! This is a spoiler for part 2 aka Black Canvas: Convictions of my fic. So please view at your own discretion!
Alright! So we’re post Hosu now. Stain is in custody and the recording has been deleted. Now all Izuku has to remember Chizome by is the knife and the scarf. For the knife, Aizawa has offered to help train him how to use it safely but it’s something that can be stored in his belt. The scarf on the other hand...
...we can have a little more fun. ;)
Thus we have this new version of Izuku’s costume! Not a super big difference and we’ll see if it stays with future plans I have in store, but I still really like it! :D So yeah, Izuku has added the scarf for essentially aesthetic but mostly sentimental reasons. And if things were to go awry he has the knife to cut himself free. ^____^ So here he is!
It’s a small change but still super fun to me. And the scarf has connections to so many characters for me. Chizome because it was his scarf, Aizawa because his capture weapon is also a scarf, and also in canon manga chapters where Midoriya gets a certain article of clothing from a mentor. Those who read the manga know but in case you’re anime only, vague to keep the spoiling to a minimum.
Anyway! There’s Izuku adding Chizome’s scarf to his hero outfit! :D
Blank Canvas: Convictions - Izuku’s And Hitoshi’s Hero Costumes!
For readers of Blank Canvas, this is a post of my sketches for our favorite boys, Izuku’s and Hitoshi’s, hero costumes! :D Below the line because spoilers.
Let’s start with Izuku’s hero costume!
His hair got so floofy that it crossed over the perforated line in my sketchbook. XD It’s taller than canon but I’m not perfect. Anyway! I like his costume in canon for the most part, but I made changes of my own. The overall color is dark green with black accents. The elbow, knee, and shoulder pads are black as well. As for the Q logo, the Q itself is red and the stripe is black. Like so:
It’s the same one he had on his shield and tape gun during the sports festival arc. Both of which are out of commission right now. But now it’s on his suit and his shoes! :D
And let’s hear it for Hitoshi’s!
I think I got his floof hair better. :P Anyway, I like the idea of Hitoshi going for something similar to Aizawa when it came to his hero costume. Dark suit, capture weapon, belt, etc. I did give him a bit more padding on the elbows and knees. As for the mask, it’s the same as canon because why change it? I think it’s a cool bit of technology and am just giving the credit to the two Support gremlins. :P Also he copied Izuku’s X motif on the chest for a new nickname I have planned for them. ;) The Batsu Boys.
There ya have it! Green Bean and Purple Panda all suited up! :D Please forgive my chicken scratch and proportion issues.
For my dear readers of Blank Canvas, this is of part 2 chapter 27 that we get to meet the cats! Under the line for visual convenience.
Izuku and Hitoshi finally get to meet the cats! And here they are!
We’ve got the orange tabby cat Disc Jockey or DJ for short. He’s a rescue found by Yamada and super cuddly. He’s based off my neighbor’s cat, Calvin, who was an absolute derp and a cuddle monster.
Then there’s the white fluffy cat Espionage or Esp for short. She was found in an alley injured and Aizawa took her in. She’s more aloof and regal, deciding when she wants attention or not. She reminds me more of my sister’s cat, Sky, growing up.
Lastly is the ‘shadow cat’ who is a black cat and we’ll meet her later on. She is skittish and very shy around strangers. Mostly hiding and only coming out rarely. She’s based off my cousin’s cat, Wednesday or Wendy for short, who is also a shadow cat but when she is comfortable with you she is cuddly.
And there are the cats! We’ll learn more about ‘shadow cat’ in a future chapter while DJ and Esp will be appearing here and there as plot dictates. :)
Blank Canvas: Convictions - Izuku’s Hosu Arc Support Items
For part 2 of my Blank Canvas AU, here are my sketches of Izuku’s support items! :D These are spoilers for my fanfic so I’ll put them below the line just in case. ;)
Starting with the goggles!
Basically the same as the sports festival. Just minor tweaking here and there. Green same as his costume will be.
Next, the mask!
Again, same as the festival.
For something that is new, the arm wrappings! :D
There were a lot of requests for Izuku to have some kind of homage to Stain on his costume. It was also something I wanted to do for a while as well and this is what I came up with! A mix of Aizawa’s scarf and the wrappings Chizome has on his arms except they’re red like Stain’s own scarf. We don’t really know why Aizawa’s capture weapon floats like it does though there’s fan speculation that it could be connected to his floating hair. But since it works for Shinsou too in canon who doesn’t have floating hair, I’m just going with that it’s the material itself and not a quirk related effect. Anyway!
Next, the belt!
This one hasn’t changed other than restocking supplies. Which are the extra tape and fuel cartridges among other things. Such as...
The bombs!
These were the ones Izuku invented for the festival. But the new one is...!
The capture bomb!
Basically a net in a ball. Throw, capture, and done!
Next, the escrima rods!
These are basically remade the same as they were in the festival. However Mei being Mei couldn’t help but add her own feature. Which is this!
Just an additional feature which I’m not sure if I’ll be using or not yet. But I feel like Mei would find some way to ‘improve’ a baby.
And finally...the new and improved Jet shoes! :D
I have a lot of fun sketching these. ^___^ It’s a cross between a hiking boot and a dirt bike racing boot. So he gets ankle support and a more durable support item. The Q logo itself is red and the rest of the line is green.
More views of the shoes for reference if you need it.
And those are Izuku’s Hosu arc support items! :D Hope you like them because I sure do. ^____^ The costume itself will be revealed in a later chapter.
Your author, joker, here! This is a post to show my OC created with help from peeps on the discord. Taikan Gosei is his name and being kind and in Hitoshi’s corner is his game! :D I’ll put the deets below the line for visual convenience.
First off, let’s start with a picture of this guy!
He’s not going to make much of an appearance. Just when it comes to dealing with Hitoshi’s foster situation. I just felt that Hitoshi needed someone who was on his side at the foster center. Taikan is the man for the job.
Name: Taikan Gosei, 耐感 御情
耐 (タイ, tai ) meaning 'endure',
感 (カン, kan) meaning ‘feeling’,
耐感 together means ‘resistance’,
御 ( ゴ , go ) for honorable/manipulate/govern,
情 ( セイ , sei ) for feelings/emotion/passion among many others
Other details on him. Taikan is 58, male, brown eyes, red fur with streaks of grey from aging, and his skin is more of a tan color but he’s more hair than the average person. His Quirk is an emitter type that allows him to feel the emotions around him as well as minorly manipulate the emotions of those near him. Nothing too drastic but enough to lower someone’s anger or make someone sad a bit happier.
Personality wise he’s a kind person who likes to help and work with kids which is why he works at the foster center. He’s also a peaceful man who would rather settle matters calmly and without confrontation. He does come to the defense of those who have a tougher time but manages to settle any tense situations with his calm demeanor and a bit of help with his Quirk. Also, despite him being a kind man, he still faces discrimination because of his appearance being seen as scary. Which unfortunately he can feel how others think about him because of his Quirk but he never let it get to him over the years.
Thanks go to Serif666, cheezee without zee, Christina, Audrey, and Sin on the discord for helping me create this character. Also a second to Christina for her help with the kanji of his name!
This comes from the awesome and tech savvy CoupCumber on the discord! She knows what she’s talking about when it comes to tech and such. She made this as a suggestion for the design of Aizawa’s goggles rather than having his and Izuku’s be exactly the same. Which I totally agree with as I talk about in (this) post I made for chapter 13 of part 1. Anyway, below the line for visual convenience.
The overall spread sheet and now some details.
As said in the other post, a thinner design for Aizawa’s goggles makes more sense to his character. Inspiring his goggles’ new design!
There ya have it! Awesome fanart leading to a redesign of Aizawa’s goggles! :D Thanks, Coup!
Welcome back to the second half of the interview! The recording will be heard and some decisions will be made about how to handle this situation. I hope you like it! ^____^
Warning for brief mentions of past suicide baiting and canon character death from Vigilantes.
Linktree to all the things!
End notes for the chapter are under the line.
The recording as been heard and, bzzt, deleted. How clumsy of Nezu to do such a thing. ;P Now it may seem that Izuku is getting off light. This is partially for plot reasons, but also honestly I don't think they really have anything arrest worthy on him. Nor to warrant expulsion or getting kicked out of the hero course. Especially when two of them are his mentors who know Izuku better. Knowing he has a penchant for helping, not hurting. Implementing any of those options wouldn't actually help the situation.
The failure to turn Stain in is certainly bad but also not. Because they never conspired to do anything criminal or illegal. Not really anyway. They just talked. The hit on Endeavor is certainly the most problematic issue of this situation. But my thoughts are that even though that was bad, the evidence produced by that hit would be beneficial to their investigation. So this would be similar to making a deal with a criminal to help with another case. Lower Izuku's punishments in order to bring justice to someone else. (I watch a lot of crime shows and find true crime fascinating so...this is how my brain worked it out. :P )
Izuku will be getting punished still though. Not sure how exactly but Aizawa is going to be the one to decide as his homeroom teacher. I am open to ideas as to what his punishment will be exactly. For now, I'm thinking something like hell training in a detention like form with Aizawa. Kind of similar to how Aizawa handled those who failed the midterm exam during the training camp of pushing them to their limits but also educating them at the same time. But again, the specifics are not determined yet so ideas are welcome. ^____^
Izuku gets to keep both of the gifts! :D Because I wanted him to but also there has to be a lot of rule bending in underground hero work. So of course Aizawa would be willing to let this slide. Technically it could be construed that they both became Izuku's after being given to him by Stain. And if it brought comfort to his problem child at the same time, so be it. Dadzawa cares about his kids. This is also influenced by Japan's gift giving culture as well.
Fun Facts About Japan:
This is more of an observation than confirmed fact so I could be wrong. In Japan, the homeroom teacher is basically the students' school parent. They're kind of...more involved in their students' lives than say a teacher in the US. At least that was my impression. It's sort of part of the hierarchy that I had talked about in an earlier chapter. Where you go to the person just above you first before moving up the ladder. The homeroom teacher is directly above the students so they are the main force when it comes to dealing out punishments. Or handling certain situations. Such as when a lil' perv boy at one of my schools had drawn a highly inappropriate drawing that was obviously me during one of my lessons. I told my teacher I was working with and she talked to the homeroom teacher of that class. Then that homeroom teacher apologized to me on behalf of his student after doing whatever he did in regards to handling the situation. My guess would be a lot of yelling honestly. I had heard plenty of students getting a talking to in that very intimidating Japanese yelling tone. To the point of me thinking 'I don't know what you did but oof that's got to suck'. Anyway, the situation was handled through the homeroom teacher. Which is why Aizawa will be the one to deal out Izuku's punishment for this mess.
That's all for now! Next update we're going to get some much needed fluff in the beginning. Then Izuku has got some 'splaining to do. ;P Followed by a visit from the chief! We'll find out who gets the credit this time around. Until then be well and report any typos or weirdness!
