After watching the new gameplay trailer, I noticed Aonuma starts out in Blatchery Plain and heads toward Dueling Peaks Stable… and there are no Guardians in sight! All of the dead Guardians have been removed from the field, and just the ruins of the fort are left!

This is such a nice and peaceful sort of scene. You couldn’t tell there was a battle here, could you? Well, aside from the dead guardians scattered around.

Fort Hateno - [Youtube Speedpaint]
Hateno Hot Take:
The battle of Blatchery Plain is ultimately irrelevant to the survival of Hateno Village because even if the fort falls both roads that lead to the village have natural barriers that would prevent guardians from reaching the village.
