With work easing up and the child starting to go to sleep before 8 pm, I finally got to split some brews with my boy Duce. All of these happened to be beer that friends hooked me up with.
First up was Trillium Artaic. It was a DIPA brewed with wildflower honey. My boy called me at work one day and said he’d bought a bottle of this for me and would drop it off that night. Good dude! This was glorious! It smelled dank! There were flavors of lemon and honey at the forefront. The dank lurked in the background.
Next was Bldg 8 The IPA. My coworker brought this to me at work in a brown paper bag on her way to a meeting with no explanation. I love my job! It was really hoppy but almost soapy. There was a hint of grapefruit. t was really good.
Last was Hoof Hearted Cultrider Imperial Black IPA. My boy Kabooby gave this to me over the holidays and I was saving it to split with Duce. Thank God I did as this bad boy was 11.5% ABV. The alcohol was well hidden. There were flavors of coffee and brown sugar. There was some pine in the background. This was a great beer!
Sidenote: I make sure to emphasize the f and draw out the pause before Hearted every time I say Hoof Hearted’s name.
