Trilliums
original world stuff from the past few months
particularly enthusiastic . . .
Trillium! I also went on the woody part of the property where a couple planted a lot of native wildflowers years ago. The old woman gave me permission years ago but I think she died and they’re selling the place. I wish now that I had spent some time talking with her to learn more but I never did. Anyway the Dutchman’s breeches we’re done blooming. You can see some foliage. But the trilliums were in full bloom so I got some pictures. Amazing.
If I thought I was staying here I would ask permission to dig some wildflowers for the garden before they do who knows what with that area.

Definitely not the only time you see Hosea in my gallery, he's one of my most beloved characters of all time... I just am chronically behind on promised merch and deadlines </3
Spring at the trillium ravine, it was gorgeous.
Plant of the Day
Thursday 14 May 2026
In late spring the startling flowers of Trillium sessile (toadshade, sessile trillium, wake robin) appear. The red-maroon flowers appear in the centre of the whorl of leaves. As a woodland plant this species thrives in deep, moist but well-drained, humus-rich, acid to neutral soil in deep or partial shade.
