Better that than fears of the kingdom
i write this with the deepest vow of silence, unwritten by penmanship so lost to time. i loathe that i cannot bring myself to sign this letter, should it find you. . . link. hero of courage, traveler of time, knight who seals the darkness. with this document, i shall depict to you my heart's oils on canvas. how it flutters on the wing like the softest fluctuation of a butterfly's wing, how slow the world seems to blow like a grass blade in your presence. the simplest things, from the everlasting glow of your golden hair, your smile by a dimly lit room's candlelight. time never seems to be enough, not when i'm with you. and though our time has been limited, and my future written in stone, i know one thing. my heart has never lasted this long for any of my readings, my knowledge, my wisdom. hylia forgive me for what little words i've shared with you, with previous venoms i spat at your very ilk. no satin flowery prose could ever mend the viciousness i once showed you, but i long for the days where i felt your hand ghost mine on a field's eve mid-journey. to see the fireflies dance by the softest shave of your face, and to prosper in the light that lie within your eyes.
yours truly.

The letter doesn’t need a signature as Link’s throat tightens. It’s taken longer than it should have for him to return to Hateno. He’d been following various leads of sightings of her all over Hyrule rather than return to the home that they both shared. It was partially the work and partially the fear that keeps him away.
He might have built Hateno for himself but in the years since they vanquished Calamity Ganon it had become their home. And what was his home without her there? The house would be too still without her there.
And he re-entered the home, steps soft so as not to disturb the thin layer of dust that rested over everything in their absence. He doesn’t want to change anything without her there. Like a tomb, a memorial, he wants everything to be exactly as it is when she returns.
It takes an effort of will to venture down into her ‘study’, the place they jokingly called the hideyhole near the well. As much as he’s loathe to barge in there, he has to know….has to see if maybe she…
But he finds the note instead, reading it in a flurry and then in a trudge, emotions washing over him one after the other. Anger, frustration, joy, sadness, and, and—does he dare? What’s holding him back now?
I will find you, he promises himself, refolding the letter and tucking it near his heart. Zelda.

zelda kneels, finds her leggings dirtied by enriched soil of the forest, but offers forward a stone. engraved in it, unbearable, is the signia of her family, but it's a gorgeous sunstone garnet, one she held so cherishibly close to her heart. " a token of my gratitude, for all your aid in our time of need. " a pause. " and for your effervescent splendor in sharing your wisdom with the hero. "
" -- and perhaps, staying so BRIGHT in such a darker time. "
For the first time, in a long, long time, Oaki feels true uncertainty. It's knotting the wood in the deepest depth of his small frame. Usually he's far more ambitious. In all his adventures with his brother he stood by his side, and made sure he's safe and well fed…
Was there any wisdom that was shared? Him and Link are the same age after all… and rarely did his siblings feats go noticed by the Princess. It was always the false hero who did…
So, the little Korok gently nudges the stone back to her. " I can't accept this. " He admits with a little shake of his head. " I'm just his brother. I'm suppose to be those things for him! So… so you should keep the stone, Miss Princess. "

This Might Kill Her
Only Urbosa could know whether she was shaking from fear, anger, or some combination thereof, but she certainly should not have been holding anything terribly fragile as the words echoed around her.
She didn't speak much about her time in Naboris. None of them did, not even once-boastful Revali. She was inclined to say that she had particular trauma with Thunderblight, but that was ego at its finest. She knew that.
But one hundred years was hardly something she could forget. One hundred years of summoning every ounce of strength in her body to try to change Naboris' course, to throw the demon out into the sand wastes, of screaming back when it taunted her. Of atoning for a sin their tribe should have been able to leave well in the past.
Teeth grit close enough together that she was in danger of breaking a tooth, she unsheathed her scimitar in response.
"Well enough that you'd better start running, little beast."
you are a tenacious, fighting spirit that the sand clashes to meet in glorious murals. no matter the scourge that taints your very land, you beseech and ordain the truth and justice of your people. while i never hope to find us in decent company, as i know you loathe my very being, i find it at least polite to acknowledge beauty as it stands. any woman should consider themselves lucky to be in your good graces and admiration. i wish nothing but the best for you, lady urbosa, despite our differences.
Hey Nonny Nonny
She read the letter once, twice, and then three times over before replacing it on her overburdened bureau. Forefinger and thumb pinched the bridge of her nose, a familiar gesture to those who were at her side when opening correspondence from Hyrule's king.
"If this is from who I believe it is, and it isn't entirely packed with lies, its sender would do well to remember that there's no reason for us to oppose one another. If he has enough sense to send this, surely he understands why I call him a fool."
ashes to ashes, blood runs red, the master sword's mine! hope you end up dead <3333

Hands meet together, loosely pinched before releasing. His left hand levels next to his side, patting down gently. Pointer taps to his temple before swinging forward, hand curling into a fist, thumb and pinky stepping out with a small push. Pointer finger again points directly in the air zig-zags a couple times before making a circle in the air.
Tapping his chest, his flattened palm chops forward. Both hands face upward in front of his chest, first reaching forward then drawing back. Connecting both hands together, he swinging his left hand back and forth a couple times in the air. Left hand starts wide to the right before pulling across his chest and closing tight. Pointing at the speaker, at the note, at the darkness, at the faceless moon in the sky, he chops his hand forward again. Flattened palms shift from right to left, before his left hand pinches together, first pecking at the corner of his lips and then his cheek.
<<Lost child, forever wandering alone. I will get the sword back and you will be brought home>>

« You can't stop me, whoever you are. » He's unfazed, has no clue who this person is.
“ we all have secrets, don’t we? ” - malice, @bldmnrises
Link crossed his arms and looked down at Malice. "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't get to have secrets."
A lie, but he didn't trust this kid. She undoubtedly knew what he was hiding from the rest of Hyrule, from his friends. The mask he wore to keep them all from seeing the truth would not fool someone like Malice.
But that didn't mean he had to admit to anything.
